Not answering for leucrotta, but...one has to choose a detail level and go with it. Bow strings are very narrow. When drawing with ink outlines, the smallest feature you can draw is a narrow white space bounded by black lines which make it look bigger and chunkier than one might intend.
This happens to me a lot when I try to draw whiskers; they tend to end up being really visually distracting, at least while drawing whole figures with ink outlines.

Well, I'm not an artist so I wouldn't know how thin you can draw,
although it is clear from the action, I can't help myself looking at the pic
and thinking "he's holding a stick in his hand", since you dont even see
the string fastened to the bow tips. The shape is clear, so is the action.
I can understand a certain level of abstraction.
And I still think it is a brilliant picture :)

This is a seriously cool looking piece. I love the look of motion it has to it as well as the way it's looking at something. You just feel like he's going to go after it and start firing arrows without a doubt-it doesn't look like he will hesitate to do it. The choice of mount, armor, and varied weaponry is a great touch.
