I wanted to make some of these for a little bit now, so I spent my afternoon doodling and this is what came out.
The subject matter for these is animals that were significant to the native Mexican people.
(top left-bottom right)
1. Caiman, it was from the body of a large caiman that some legends say the world was made of.
2. Colima dog, The dog was highly revered as a guide to the land of the dead, often a dog was buried with the deceased to lead them to the afterlife
3. Quetzal, This bird was believed to be an incarnation of Quetzalcoatl, They were kept as pets to the wealthy and NEVER killed as a sacrifice or for it's plumage.
4. Caracara, The eagle was a symbol of strength, pride, and bravery to the Mesoamerican people.
5. Jaguar (Actually Tepeyollotl) Another symbol of great power, the Jaguar was a symbol for both warriors as well as mystics.
6. Snake, The serpent is a common symbol for fertility in many cultures. Snakes were a large part of mesoamerican culture, some wise men would use them in aide to reading fortunes.
I'm asking $8 for these each, shipping included, depending on how well these do I'll make more.
