God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen by Anonymous

One of the most difficult of all christmas carols to perform, it has taken me at least three years to be able to play this one with any semblance of comfort (or joy! )
Performed semi-live on December 8, 2007 on Casio CT-670 synthesizer. Music all played live into the synthesizer's memory and then the sound changes were performed on memory playback.
Music composed in England before 1823 by Anonymous (public domain). Four-part harmony arrangement from United Methodist Hymnal.

Thank you!!!
I started playing the organ when I was 5, and on the organ one must choose what sounds to use. When Walter Carlos' music came out, I noticed that the performance was credited to two people; not knowing squat about Moog synthesizers or multitrack recording back then, I figured that Walter played the notes while the other person changed the sounds. That misconception along with the performance necessity of changing stops on the organ led to my fascination with using different sounds and with changing them during a piece.

Cool! I hadn't known that there was a comma in a particular place in the title before I looked it up on Wikipedia...
The preset sounds on the synth I use are arranged in ''families'' and there are 10 sounds in each family that can be quickly switched between. I spent awhile figuring out the best ones...but didn't switch them during the actual performance because it makes the playing too choppy - I recorded the performance on the synth then changed the sounds on the playback.
