The sparkling flakes fluttered down from the sky. Cleo giggled as one of them landed on the tip of her nose and melted into an almost imperceptible drop of water. This was her favorite time of year. Many of her friends would hole up in their apartments, buried in blankets with the heat blasting, content to just sleep the season away. Herself, she loved little more than to stroll through a winter wonderland. She loved the brisk bite of the cold on her skin. In the whiteness of the countryside, Cleo could always lose herself, letting the worries of life just disappear into the grey distance...
