For all of you who are wondering what I look like, here is me and my beloved car, Ol' Liz, a 1924 Ford Model T. I've given her a lot of TLC, and she has a lot of years left on the road. If you want to know anything more about me or her, don't hesitate to ask!

Is it difficult to crank start?

It has an electric starter, but it doesn't work so I have to crank start it. It's actually pretty easy, but it can break your wrist if you don't do it right!

Thats what I saw in a documentary about model T fords that it actually killed someone by whipping back and broke their jaw! But it must be awesome cranking it over with a crank!

Got the Rocky mountain brake pack? I'm told its a damn good idea to get that on a Model T if you drive it a lot.

Not yet, but it's on the list. I actually find that the stock brakes can work decently, especially because i rebuilt them with new shoes, drums, cams, etc.

Oh, if only I had money! :D

Ah yes, money is always the problem with keeping old machines on the road.

Still at least the T still has plenty of people using them so should be easier to get parts for than most cars of its vintage.

That is wonderful!

I've always aspired to own an antique car, but time, space and resources have kept me from owning/restoring one. I did have a 1965 VW Beetle, but let it go as I needed the money and garage space.

That Ford is a thing of beauty! You should be proud of her!

Nope. She's stock and behaves exactly like the way she did when she rolled off the line nearly 90 years ago.

Awesome, the earlier models had a completely different control layout if I recall correctly, they were very complex...

Very nice car though, well done on getting one in such good condition

I bought Lizzie from a friend of mine at the museum that I volunteer for. I couldn't pay the full price, but I paid a down payment and wound up paying the rest off by working on some of his other Ts

She's our baby! We love to take her to yard sales on the weekend. Sometimes we get so much stuff that we wind up looking like the Beverly Hillbillies :)
