New Comic, Page 4 Development
More teasers from the new comic. I gotta admit, it's gonna take a -lot- of self discipline to keep me from posting this thing before it's done! I'm having a ton of fun with it and doing what I hope is some of my best work yet.
On the other hand, completing each issue before posting, means I'll never lack a buffer!

Looks like you're making good use of that Cintiq!
I really need to sit down and focus on learning Manga Studio. I finally figured out how to set US comic page sizes for templates, but panels still elude me. I can create and resize them, but making some that are inset or in 'L' shapes isn't something I have figured out how to do yet. I figure with luck, I can use MS to pencil out the comic, panels, etc, then jump over to Photoshop for quick color.

Actually, I haven't been able to get the Cintiq properly up and running. Or I should say, the Cintiq works beautifully by itself, but it won't bear the presence of another tablet on my system, even its own little buddy. So I'm still using my regular tablet for the moment.
Hopefully I'll be able to get it fixed sooner or later. :)
The secret to doing inset panels, L-shaped panels etc: you need to create the unusual shapes manually on a separate layer and trim them to fit. For instance, the circular panel borders on this page, I simply started a new layer, drew two concentric circles with the marquee tool, then filled in white between them with the paint bucket. Then I erased spurious bits of the original rendered panel layer.
If that doesn't make sense, let me know, I'll post some screenshots to show you what I mean.
