As some of you already saw in my journal, I've started an indiegogo campaign to raise funds for a tutorial pack, as many of you expressed an interest in how I work. I'm putting together a book that will contain information on:
colour theory
painting techniques
textures
anatomy
posing
lighting
composition
backgrounds
clothing
props
perspective
character design (the most furry specific topic)
comics
If it goes a lot higher than the goal I'll have to think of other perks to add.
It hasn't even been up 24 hrs and it's already over 25% funded! You guys are awesome!
Go here for the indiegogo site, which has an indepth explanation of the campaign and perks associated: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/h.....illa/x/2234784

Have always admired your colouring and composition skins so I am more than happy to contribute C: 10$ it's a pretty awesome and affordable price so i am more than willing to give it to you. Wish I could contribute with more but I am a starving artist so this will have to do. Hope you can reach your goal and look forward to receiving this tutorials! 8D Good luck!
I use Canada Post primarily but can try using another service if someone informs me their country has difficulty. I've never shipped to Russia before so I don't know if there would be a problem with delivery. I will be shipping internationally, but yeah if there's any specific instructions then let me know.
Nothing specifically about drawing faces, I feel like there could be an entire book written about that alone. I forgot to mention that facial expressions would be included though... I could add it as a potential additional tutorial of human faces if people would be interested in that.
An art tutorial book done by an artist that I know and love? I'm so there, I'm tired of the same old half-assed, cookie cutter 'how to draw' tutorial books. I wanna be able to art like a pro without having to pay for classes like one, hopefully this will help out with that. Count me in.
Although, after taking a look at my empty void of a bank account it'll have to wait for 4 more days. College expenses, you know how they be.
18 year old me: "Student Loans are amazing, I can go to school and still afford to get shit-faced everyday."
23 year old me: "FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU I need booze... "

lol I know, that wasn't what I meant, I just meant that I'm sure that it would help me out more so than other furry how to draw books that I picked up that gave a very vague over view of the actual 'how to' part and just pictures of how it should look. Judging by your description your book will be more than that. C'mon I'm trying to give you a compliment lol. I was more or less kidding when I said like a pro, I just want to do something better than my usual left handed chicken scratch. Plus my fiance,
was a graphic design major in college and took a ton of art classes. She agreed to help me out. But, if I do become more interested in it then i will absolutely pursue some classes for myself.
Either way good luck, and I'm looking forward to it.

It won't be in book stores, but the tutorials will be aimed to help artists of any media. It's not a step-by-step tutorial, it offers actual techniques and advice on how to approach painting and drawing rather than going 'here is a circle, now add triangles for ears' sort of approach :P There may be a few tutorials that seem digital specific, but very few.
I need to ask..
What like skill level is this book directed at? I'm considering the 10$ pack with the PDF but I know about art theory and technique, I'm just wondering if this is basic stuff or if you've gone into detail? Looking at my art now would you say your book would help me or would it be a bit too simple, in your opinion?
Thanks a lot if you can get back to me on this that'd be great. :) I've got a lot of art books and this looks nice from what I've seen of it so far.

Well, I funded you and got the doodle dog perk, I really do look forward to the completion of this.
I really want to see what kinds of improvements I can make with my art upon reading this.
Thanks alot for this, Demi, I'm sure it'll help many others work their way to achieving higher levels of skill like your own =3

I do have a concern/question: a lot of artists in their tutorials showcase a specific art program (one that, frankly, I probably don't use)...will a lot of the painting techniques be described so they can be geared towards any type of paint-capable program?
It won't stop me from purchasing because it looks like there's plenty of other relevant information, but I am curious.

Because the tools I use in my program are extremely basic, you should be able to do the equivalent with any type of medium or software (digital or traditional). A lot of the techniques have more to do with art and approach than the tools you're using. I'll be including what brushes/layer settings and such I use for the curious, but they are by no means necessary to grasp the concepts I'll be trying to teach :)

Wooooo! GOAL! Congratulations Demi ^_^ !
Contributed as well - I'm so glad a) this worked out so fast for you, and b) that you're doing it. I've got tons of art tutorial books, but nothing furry-centric, so not as useful as I had hoped. I really look forward to seeing your work on this. Heh, great name too by the way. :P

I don't see the addresses through indiegogo, but paypal provides them for all payments regardless. I think indiegogo asks for it automatically because it doesn't yet have a set up where I can specify to it which perks involve shipped goods and which involve digital goods (so it defaults to physical goods just in case).
It's complete now, all the people who ordered printed copies have been sent theirs (with the exception of a few who had invalid postal codes and I'm contacting for fixes). I am selling the PDF still for $10 but printed copies are very limited. Once I'm sure every contributor got theirs, I'lll sell the extras, but there aren't very many and I'm not certain of a price yet. I don't want to sell it for less than the contributors paid because that makes it seem like I'm ripping off my contributors, who invested and waited patiently for the product. So it won't likely be sold for less than $50.
There's a form thingy I made just for this, just fill it out and I'll send you an invoice for the PDF :) It's very easy this way for me to keep track of who I've sent invoices, who's paid, and who I've already sent an e-mail to with the PDF. You can pay the invoice whenever you're ready to. Thanks a bunch! Here's the form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1kL.....PDWnE/viewform
