Gallery examplesHello and welcome to FiddleKnits!
I make custom knitted creations, primarily critters and original characters.
Please take a look at my FA gallery here for my plushes I’ve posted up here so far:
https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery.....11787/Knitting
I have made more, though these definitely were all a joy to complete and deliver to their owners.
It would be my pleasure to speak with you further about pricing and creative opportunities. You may note me here or email me at the address on my business card with any inquiries.
Current Que:
---Two slots open for 2022
I have a few personal projects on the needles right now, but if I take on a commission or two, they will fit into my schedule and the decided season for delivery will be honored to the best of my ability.

Knitted Plushie*~*Inquire Via Notes*~*
1 knitted plush.
No fan characters, I only want to make general animals and OC characters.
No hyper, no children, no metal, robot, or kink focus to plushes.
Further questions, just Note me.
Size:
Some plushes fit a smaller size (5"-10"), some end up larger (taller or longer than a foot/12"+). Materials, construction, and general pattern design all come into play here.
As examples:
Pandez panda teddy was around 14" tall
Anix sergal plush was near 12" tall
Flam dragon plush was around 14" long
Bandit raptor plush was 4" by 7"
Snake plush was around five feet long (60")
Materials:
It won’t be perfect, but I will try my hardest to create a plush that closely matches your character to the best of my ability. It will be knitted with yarn (wool or acrylic, will be discussed along with color choices). The insides will most likely be Polyfil, though I can use scrap yarn for a more squishy feeling, if desired. Size will vary, based on the type of yarn and size needles I use (small needles mean a tighter/sturdier body, but a smaller size overall). This will be decided during pre-commission discussions.
Time for production:
Varies. I can possibly finish a repeat animal in one month, but a totally new creation could take up to three months. Knitting takes time, and no knitter is ever paid an equal rate as many artists you see on here, in comparison to the dozens of hours it takes to create many of the critters I added here. I will be fully transparent with progress images during construction.
Knitting is a hobby, not my primary income. I will work on projects as my time allows, but please respect there will be days I am not free to devote to knitting.
Communication:
I will contact you (after we agree on a design/concept) with plenty of WIP pics, and questions for customization. Together we will figure out the best patterns to adapt from, to make the perfect end plush for you. I prefer to start our conversation in email or in Furaffinity Notes, but can switch to an instant messenger for smoother communication and image sharing afterwards. You may find my contact options on my business card, displayed in the lower section here or in my FA gallery.
Price:
As a base line, plushes will start at $150 and go up from there.
I'm going to be honest, every commission is a unique one. I certainly don't make enough repeat projects to have a steady cost for one particular plush type.
--Each project uses materials (Which can range from $6-20 per color, plus shipping, if I don't have it in stock already) and include hours of knitting as well as shipping.
--Domestic US shipping isn't bad, though shipping outside of the US does cost more, depending on where I am shipping to. I will be using a standard shipping service (USPS or UPS for domestic, UPS or DHL for international) and will provide you a tracking number.
-I am willing to do deliveries at conventions I will be attending, either via myself or a trusted local person. This would bring your shipping cost to $0.
Complexity, color variation, and shipping destination will all affect the final price. Adjustments mid-project will depend on complexity (if I get through most of the creation and there is a major construction change request, this will increase the price. These may all be discussed via conversation in email or Notes.
Cancellations
If I have completed less than 1/2 of the plush, I can refund the entire amount paid, save for materials cost (would range from $5-$45). If a commissioner cancels after half of the plush is made, we can talk terms of a partial refund, but I refuse to go unpaid for several weeks of labor on a product. Discussion can occur for decided what happens with the remaining plush, and of course, if it is a custom character, it will not be finished and sold to another person.
I will always reserve the right to decline a commission request.
Intellectual Property:
I will share pictures of works in progress, as well as finished pictures of the knitted plush. The owner of the plush is welcome to share these pictures as well, as long as I am credited in the process. The commissioner still retains rights to their character, I will only be using pictures taken to show an example of my work for my portfolio and social sharing.
Your plush may have a garment tag attached. This will have my logo and care details about washing/drying as the yarn type allows (for example, acrylic yarn should not be run in the dryer, it may melt). Please leave this on, it will help to preserve the life of your plush, as well as have a way to be returned to me if it gets lost -- I will then make my best efforts to return it to you. I will do my best to place this tag in an unobtrusive location, for nicer displays and comfort when handling.
I have had the pleasure to showcase my creations at art shows in the past. If there is an art show that coincides with my schedule and yours, I may inquire if I can show your plush for the duration of the event and deliver it to you afterwards, but this will be asked in advance. I try to only show the creations I've made during that current year, so never fear, I won't ask to borrow your plush in the following years.
Commissioner responsibilities:
**Provide a reference image. This is an absolute requirement. Several, if it's an option. I will need to know what you want me to feature on your character, any specifics with the design, and any wishlist features I should try but are not required to make work.
**Payment is required. This will be discussed in pre-production conversations. The plush cost will either be:
--paid in full when I start the project
--half-paid when I start and the rest when I am ready to ship.
Payment is in USD. I accept payments through Paypal and Zelle, though I can take cash if we are able to meet in person.
**I will need an address to ship this to. The only exception is if we plan to do a delivery at an event we are attending, such as a furry con that fits both my schedule and yours.
**I need a reliable method of communication. My options are displayed on my business card.
**Failure to follow with the above requirements may result in your commission request being declined or cancelled.

Customizations-Will your plush have wings?
-Will it a particular tail type?
-Do you want hair?
-What sort of eyes would you like?
-Would you like me to incorporate magnets into the design?
-Would you prefer an anthro or feral approach to your character?
I will need a reference image. Multiple sides would be extremely preferred--like a fursuit, I'm creating a 360 degree item of your character! I truly want to give your character my best efforts to deliver them in cute huggable form.
Please do your best to point out any details you want or don't want featured. Some plushes look better with hair (tassles or otherwise), some do not. The more informed I am at the start of a project, the better I can bring your plush dream to life!
If you want some articulation (bendability or posability), I can add crafting wire to the limbs or spine to help it hold its shape and position. If you want upright wings, in example, I do recommend this.
If this is meant for a child, please let me know! There are some yarn types that are better for children and infants, as well as some materials I will avoid to ensure child safety with your plush (especially crafting wire or any items that can be swallowed by accident).
These all need to be decided before I start knitting your plush. I may come to you with questions or ideas mid-construction, but having this planned out ahead of time will benefit both you the commissioner and I the creator. |
