Looking for ArtistsI am looking for commissions. any artist that can draw feral critters and has an idea of a predator-like beast for Timmie to ride, send me a note. Timmie prefers furry critters and likes riding with no saddle and clinging to the fur. The animal should be pony size to the skunk but dangerously looking to give a good scary thrill ride.
The prominent feature of the feral can be emphasized. Such as a feline's shoulder blades, or the thick neck scruff on a wolf. These features are things Timmie will have to deal with, good or bad, when he rides. Holding the neck fur to keep from being thrown, bouncing on the boney feline shoulder blades, getting slapped on the back of the head by a long tail. Using long ears as riens (to the displeasure and retaliation of the creature ridden).
Not all commission will be of riding the beast. I'm more incline looking for riding related drawings of Timmie getting on, awkward situations as he figures how to ride or some unusual ways to ride or hang on. There can be some humor in the drawing such as finding himself riding on the animal's tail and clinging on.
Send me an idea you have and if you can, a background story for the scene. Or I'll try to come up with a story. The story should help the artist get a feel for the action in the drawing.
What I like in the drawing is the sense of fur. Come on, they are furry critters and the fur should be shown. Timmie needs something to cling to. Also action. Just sitting is boring. Scene of impeding doom is better, outright dangerous situation is great. Also humor can be a good thing too. Riding a ferret that decides to run through a tube... that is not big enough for a rider.... I like to see Timmie well seated. That is, no air between his butt and the animal's back. And no rodeo like poses. As the animal jumps, leaps or bucks, Timmie is hanging on with both paws for dear life. Or one paw is slapping the rump to get a meaner buck out of him. Ok, so the skunk encourages a wild ride. Just don't eat him when he falls off.
Animals Timmie has rode before are wolves, lions, cougar, bear, wolverine, badger, otter, cerberus.
Possible mounts for the skunk are:
- A pony size feral skunk
- Tiger (Jungle Book theme?)
- More bears (grizzly, black or polar)
- Jaguar or leopard (smaller then a lion or tiger but he can twist and leap when trying to throw the skunk off) (or slink under Timmie's legs as if offering a ride with a very toothy grin and claws ready for action *gulp*)
- Weasel or ferret or stout (long squirmy bodies can be fun)
- Kangaroo (no pouch riding*eww*) Hard to imagine how to ride one.
- Oversize rabbit or jack rabbit (those long ears make great reins, especially if they are so big Timmie has to hold them under his arm)
- Oversize squirrel (humor of trying to stay on when the squirrel is running down a tree)
- Machairodus (relative of Smilodon) The largest of the saber-tooth cats. Huge fangs make nice hand-holds...
- Dire Wolf (primitive looking compared to the wolves)
- Cerberus (three headed dog, each head having a different personality. One mean, one friendly and one the trickster. Two heads must agree to control the body. Not good for Timmie when the trickster and mean head team up together.)
- Mountain goat (clinging to a wildly bucking ram while on the side of a high cliff is not good if you are scared of heights)
- Worse (wolf and horse hybrid) Can also be a "corse", cat and horse hybrid. This creature has the build, size and body of a horse. He would have paws instead of hooves. The tail is a mix of horse and wolf, wags and can swish and smack the skunk if he is not careful. The head is big like a horse but more canine with fangs. The mane texture is like that of a horse but cover most of the top of the neck and over the shoulders. Older worses can have the mane down their back as well and some the mane goes all the way to the tail. It's not that long, only about 10 to 12 inches long on the neck and tapers down as it goes further back. Their fur is wolf like but coloration can be any type like seen in horses.
No ponies. (including MLP) Timmie is afraid of ponies when his mom placed him on a pony when he was 5 and was terrorized. To make up for his fear, he tries to ride predators or other dangerous looking beasts. Ponies and horses just don't thrill him. Well, horse might, depending on the situation.
