Short Story - 2000-3000 words

Not figuring pages here, as anyone who ever stretched a font or margin to make a page count for a school essay knows that page count is VERY flexible ;) As I am not a fan of adding crap to make an arbitrary word count, I am looking at a range here. Quality storytelling with a natural arc for you and less legalistic squabbling for me, it's win-win.

Longer Fiction - Over 4000 words

Suitable for longer multi-scene or multi-character works, this length may include an outline for commissioner approval prior to full writing.

Rates will start at $60 and be $15 each additional 1000 words after that.

Stories requiring research - per 1000 words

Because of the additional time necessary for research before writing word one of story, the rates for works requiring research not provided by the client will be $20 per 1000 words.

Poetry and Flash Fiction

This would be the short stuff, from 100 word flash stories to song lyrics and dirty limericks. The price per word is higher than prose stories because there is so much more distilling here, and at the end of the day, just about as much time spent getting the RIGHT word, as writing all the words in longer things.
