Wow. It's finally finished! Here's the reason we've barely finished anything in the past few weeks.
So this is Jazoray (
ropnjard), an airbus 319 airplane. In aeromorph fullsuit form. I will say that my model is smaller than the client, which is why the suit's a bit baggy. I took pictures on my dummy as well that show the bodysuit better.
This had to be one of our most challenging costumes ever. I designed the suit and character from the ground up, with the client explaining to me the aesthetics and mechanics of airplanes.
The whole thing is made of fleece. There's a padded undersuit which emphasizes the hips/butt as the character is female whereas the client is male. There's also leg padding to create a sort of partial-digitigrade look. The feet and tail unzip from the bodysuit completely. I need to add a strap to wear a belt to support the tail, as it does sag in these pictures.
Each wing comes off of the harness separately, and the harness is separate from the bodysuit. The jaw is also a moving jaw, and the head is mostly form, but with some resin reinforcement around the snout/jaw.
There are also navigation lights on the tail tip and the tips of each wing.
I am really proud of what we've accomplished, but also really relieved to get back to regular furry stuff xD

I think saying 'it's not my thing' sounds dismissive, like you want nothing to do with it. If I came onto your page just to say body inflation isn't my thing, you'd wonder why I went out of my way to say so.
It's the old saying of 'if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all'. There's a lot of things that aren't 'my thing' and I just skip commenting on them, it's far nicer than drawing attention to the fact that I don't care for it.

I saw someone writing a book/doing artwork about anthro rollercoasters and other theme park rides here on DeviantArt: http://railrunnermiranda.deviantart.com/
Some really cool stuff!

Oh wow. This js something special and thr first I've ever seen anything like this.
The detail on it is stunning and the fact it does look like a plane is cool. I like the shape of the head and the small details with the window.
How was working with that fleece fabric, would you consider working with it again for say a dragon? :D

i'm using good old radio navigation (VOR, NDB, DME) in conjunction with a Honeywell® flight management system.
Autopilot can land on Airports where aligning with the runway is possible via radio navigation (meaning there must be a waypoint close enough to the glidepath) AND ILS is provided.

Update: today i picked up the suit from customs. And i picked up a Wing during the official package content inspection.
Pictures alone cannot convey the amount of skill that went into this suit. although the foam almost weighs nothing, i immediately felt that it's weight was perfectly balanced, even accounting for the weight of the engines and fuel in the wing tanks.
and it has the perfect stiffness and springiness. when i move, it behaves exactly like a real wing during turbulence.
Shagpoke, you say you know nothing about planes? i call bullshit. you didn't just design the perfect plane, you engineered the perfect plane.
and yet, i am still unable to comprehend the fact that this suit exists, and it is with me now.
