Chiptune - Final Fantasy VI - Searching for Friends (VRC6)
Also: MIDI version, MIDI MP3 version
I've always been fond of this one. And now that I'm getting a whole lot better at FamiTracker, I decided to take this on using the Konami VRC6 chipset.
I tried to incorporate a propeller sound effect like in the original, and even created 16 DPCM samples to import and arrange, but they ended up sounding drowned out no matter what I did anyway, so I ended up giving them the axe.
Still, I did manage to cram in the tuning fork accompaniment, so that's something. :3 It even constantly migrates across VRC6 pulse channel duties, giving it a similar sound it had on Super NES, and yet it's not so loud that it tries to assert itself over any melody.
