*a snapshot i took on brawl one day, and one that i thought needed a good short story to cheer up a good friend of mine*

It had been a long and hard battle, but the subspace emissary was finally over. All of the smashers were now at princess Peach's castle, resting their bodies and souls from the ordeal, even Bowser and Ganondorf were not causing any trouble, having enough bother for awhile. Peach was very gald to be home with all her friends here, all except one. A quick look around the living room and Peach soon knew who was missing. "Mario, have you seen Yoshi anywhere? I don't see him here" Peach asked with worry. Mario turned to his princess and replied; "I think he-a-went to the castle's garden, he-a-said he wanted some fresh-a-air". Peach soon left the room without Mario or anyone else knowing and headed towards the garden, to where she hoped Yoshi was.

The garden was very big, being about the size of 9 tennis courts. Many flowers of different colours were swaying in the light breeze the wind had brought. In the very middle of the garden was a single tree that reached very high to the sky, people would sometimes come here to relax and forget their troubles for awhile. Right now there was someone here under the tree, crying softly. When Peach came in the garden, she could just hear the crying comming from the tree and she rushed there quitely. Looking around to the other side of the tree, she saw Yoshi sitting there, his head buried in his arms and knees. When he lifted his head to wipe his eyes, he saw Peach looking at him with worried eyes.

"Peach? *sniff* what are you *sniff* doing here?* Yoshi asked, wipeing his eyes. Peach sat down next to him, wanting to know why he was crying. "I came here looking for you Yoshi, what is wrong? Peach said to Yoshi, who turned his head away. "please tell me Yoshi, i want to help" she begged, putting her hand on his shoulder. After a few seconds passed, Yoshi looked at Peach again. "well *sniff* it's because I...I'm just hate myself...because at some point I *sniff* thought I'd...killed you..." At first Peach couldn't say anything, then she realized something. "Yoshi...it was the Shadow Bugs, wasn't it?" she asked. Yoshi nodded, then said; "I know that now...but because they take the form of any of our friends...I thought a part of ourselves was in them...*sniff*...and I thought that I killed a part of you at that time...* Yoshi was at the point of crying again, but before he did, Peach put her arms around his neck and hugged him while wispering to him; "Yoshi, I understand how you feel...I thought the same thing about Mario, Luigi...and you...but i know that you would never truely hurt anyone you cared about..."

Yoshi could no longer hold back his tears and started crying again, but this time however, they were tears of happieness. Peach smiled softly and held he close, causing Yoshi to smile too, knowing that he had a true friend in Peach.
