Alejandro Paníkì, aka "Bryony". A character I've been sketching for a while now, still don't feel I've gotten him quite right yet but thought I'd post here anyway for suggestion/comments and because I haven't put anything up for a while.
Bryony is a Mindoro Stripe-faced fruit bat, a completely adorable critter that was discovered just last year. I've been itching to do a version of this species. Unfortunatly there's only one picture of this species online, so the colors/patterns of anything except his face is pure conjecture. Also, I've been wanting a bat character even though I hate drawing wings but do like the challenge of designing functional wing-arms.
Bry's a character in Elliot's world, an expiramental biologist with a rather . . . obsessive . . . interest in cross-species hybridization who, like Dr. Moreau, retreated to a beautiful tropical island to continue his research in peace after being outsted from the scientific community for his morally questionable expiraments. You wouldn't think he's very mad casually talking to him, though. He's soft-spoken, retiring, gentle, polite but unafraid to speak his mind, and clearly quite brilliant. Just, you know, don't sneak into his lab and pull the tarpulin off that cage that you hear strange noises coming from . . . .

I tend to be weirded out by the wings out the shoulder bats, so I love the more "correct" way better.
There's something off about his body but I can't quite put my finger on it just yet....
Regardless it's a good design and you should be proud of it.
I really like how you confronted the hand-wing issue that is so hard to do when drawing anthro bats.
Great transparency and other such effects too. It is a great model for any anthro bat!
