Bellweather did nothing wrong. She did it all for Judy. Now Judy's a high ranking officer, got the man of her dreams, and Bellweather is in prison because she loves Judy.

What Bellwether did was unjustified, but one can't help but speculate that she went through a lot of crap in her life. This one believes that, like Judy, Bellwether was bullied by larger predators. But she made the mistake of fighting back instead of thinking that just because some predators are bad doesn't mean they all are. Seeing her in prison makes things no better, given the cafeteria food here is rather repulsive, even by prison standards. This one made an original character who serves as her reform psychiatrist, reaching out to help her become a better person. :)

Yes, Bellwether may have done horrible things, but it wouldn't make other mammals any better if they gave her the same bullying and abuse which was likely the reason why she did what she did, no telling what other horrible things were inflicted on her that would make her fear predators. It may not be excusable, but its understandable why she felt the need to fight back before any of those predators attacked her next, and anyone else in the prey community. The least they can do is make the food less revolting and more appetizing, along with staff keeping the kitchen clean to avoid any health inspectors coming in to question the quality of the food.
