A few months ago I sought out an artist to hire to make this exact portrait but they disappeared and never read my request.
Welp, might as well do it meself!
Took me...11 days to finish
Mostly cos I was debating if I should keep it b/w or colored - as much as I was editing Malik's particular face :U
I also blame the needlessly detailed chair but in my attempt to upgrade my skills to sell to higher paying customers - it's go big or go home :3c
this piece is a practice piece. I copied two photographs: man in suit and the chair.
I wanted to test how far my skills can go and it looks great! I'm happy ^^

Well worth it and something to be proud of here. His outfit's sleek n' well designed and the composition is well balenced.
But can't leave a comment without addressing how overwelming the black is. Even with such dark shadows, Reflected light would be comeing off the chair, fur and any walls in the room (but if the objects are far enough away then sure, a very defuded or no light may reach), this can be seen in practice in this vid https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4BAppC_1TEQ (skip to 9:17 if the time stamp didn't work, would recommend Borodantes vids to anyone learning aspects of realism) . I understand it may be a stylistic choice but with such delicate linework lost to them can make it unfortunate.
Anyhow keep doing ya thing :3, it's all nice to see.

thank you for your input uvu
yes I've been working day and night for this and the background was done in ungodly hours of dawn. I too found it to be too dark and attempted some reflected light on the right side of his face but didn't have the good judgement to continue =)) perhaps I'll update this someday
for now, I rest lmao
