It's been nearly a decade since I first released the original version of this image, and the comic that followed. It was actually just supposed to be a standalone image at first, but I fell in love with the idea of the characters, and 'Cruelty' happened. 'Unconditional' followed afterwards, wrapping up the story of these two.
One of my biggest regrets over the years has been the lack of color for 'Cruelty'. It made sense then, when I was just sort of figuring out what I was doing with comics, and I think it was the right choice for me at the time. But it made for a big discrepancy between the two comics. . . one I've always wanted to fix.
This ReMaster of the original image celebrates a ReMaster of the original comic. 'Cruelty' is now fully-colored, and available in a combined volume that includes BOTH comics ('Cruelty' and 'Unconditional') as well as a total collection of all of the artwork I've done of these characters over the years.

These two basically mark the beginning of my journey into doing Anthropomorphic art for a living. I have you guys to thank for that, so. . . finally completing this in the way it's meant to be viewed is sort of my love letter to the furry fandom. I hope you enjoy the story all over again!

Oh man... I miss this already! I remember when I first read the comic in like, 2014-2015? That was what inspired me to start drawing, and this makes me want to go back to drawing again! Wonderful story and characters, lovely art and style! I've got to admit that style is immediately recognisable as "the Rukis style" and that's how it should be! Both with the old style and the new style you've been having.
The Cover of the original was actually how I found the fandom, was searching for wolves and Werewolf fanart for my desktop background, and stumbled into the fandom. Thank you for bringing me here, Rukis. And thanks again for signing my copy of Cruelty at TFF. It was an honor!
