Chiptune - Sonic CD - Stardust Speedway Good Future (VRC6)
I actually sequenced this in late 2017. Initially I considered this version a draft, and I wanted a certain friend to listen to it, because he's always big a big fan of Sonic CD and is the only one I trust to grok Sonic CD music. But life happened, and this draft waited until he finally had time to listen to it this month. By then, this draft had really grown on me - when I listen to it, I often find myself letting it repeat on loop for 10 minutes or longer, which is a good sign of a really listenable song. So what made this version only a draft? I didn't consider the percussion completed, and indeed this is one of the few Sonic chiptunes I've ever made that uses no DPCM samples - even the drops and kicks are triangle wave. But damned if it still doesn't sound great, so...I'm releasing it.
Note that this song was heard in the Japanese and European versions of Sonic CD, but not in the North American version which replaced most of the songs with a completely different soundtrack.
