He's just a li'l feller, he deserved better than his circumstances. There was no plan for any of these characters, they just all kinda evolved as we went. All of them except Friga and Lillie are completely random. Including Tamusa himself :p

Huh. I really wouldn't be surprised that Lamb has seen that trick a few times used by Tamusa's gangs.

It would explain after such a slaughter, why Lamb would suddenly hit the breaks on her complete party wipe just on word of mouth.

Of course at the same time, if the penguin didn't start acting like he was okay with it, I suspect Tamusa had secondary plans of making them part of the merchandise once they reached their destination. Something else I'd imagine Lamb has seen once or twice.

This do explain some of the other gangs responses to the attack, they had probably not been along long enough to really know the deal.
And really not have an option to refuse once they joined/got hired on.
Not that they perhaps objected, openly at the least.
By that i mean they may simply have snuck away if they could get away with it later.
Some may not have cared one way or the other so long they got payed.

Meh, all of it is speculation on my part, and we can never know the un spoken thoughts of others, pengu may not care, or know, he could have decided to treat em all as possible hostile slavers just to be safe enough himself and not talk, same for the other "new" hires.

And yes, the penguin IS a hero. He could have tried to run, he could have not done anything and just taken the money, he could have even taken more. (From the sound of things, the slavers indulged in their own "merchandise" and had no problem taking smaller captives.)
