I absolutely love the “empty” stare in the final panel, really nails that corruptive vibe which I love.

Call me crazy, but I actually really enjoy the more gruesome interpretation here. The poses, the leaking slime, that extraordinary back-arch at the end. A couple of artfully placed blood-drip-trails would really sell it - but I get the overwhelming impression that is not the artist's vibe. Nor the vibe in the comments section in general.
