While everyone else is out getting their various parts either drained or filled, the two shy ones remain on the ship, where Rey teaches Meeka how to play Sioffer. Which is definitely not just chess.

Well, If I interpret and undestand right from what I see - than it's the game called "chess".
I can explain you the rules if you want: all consists around the two main figures called "king" and "queen" (they placed in the middle main basis of the playing platform). they are the most treasurable units during the game process. those figures can going in any way you want - if you want straight ahead the line forward or back - they can; if you want by diagonal - they can. but there are differences in them: "king" can walk anyway you like, but it comes only one cell by one step (its the wickest figure in the game). the "queen" - can walk any way you want, but it can walk not only one cell at a time, it can if need walk through a lot cells. the next figures near the "king" and "queen" is two so-called "elephants" - they flying only by diagonal. Next after them is so-called "horses" - they jumping with the figure which can look like the character "L" (in any direction) if you looked it from above. the last figures in the end of line is the figures so-called as "chess round" - flying straight the line infront or back (no diagonal). It's the main line: "king", "queen", two "elephants", two "horses", two "chess rounds"
And there is the line before them - its the line where places so-called "chess pawns" - they moved only on cell ahead.
By classic it represents like two colors: black and white.
The main goal is to destroy the enemy army by taking "in prison" the enemy "king" (when the enemy "king" have ways to go ahead - anyway it goes - anyway it will under attack - so-called "tsug-tsvang situation") on any way you'd like.
In that game there is two very cool tricks with which your opposite side can have the need to protect its "king" any way they can and no matter what powerful and treasurable in current battle figure they surelly will lose while protecting the "king".
The first trick called the "shah" / "chess" - when the enemy's "king" jumps under attack, but the enemy can escape the attack on its "king" by taking some figure between its "king" and your figure which currently threatens its "king" or enemy can escape by moving its own "king" in some other place.
The second trick is "checkmate": when the enemy "king" are going under attack without escape (so-called "tsug-tsvang situation").
That game can surelly raise up your logial and strategical skills if you really love to play it.
