Utter defeat and failure summons a silence that creates perfect conditions for listening. Victory, on the other paw, comes with that kind of noise that makes listening a lot more difficult. This way every win is its own challenge and every loss becomes a chance for growth.

Reminds me of the 'Whose line is it anyway?' moment where Colin Mocherie almost fell backwards off the set, only for Ryan Stiles to grab him and comment "I just saved your life!", only for Colin to then deliberately step off the set and demonstrate how it was only like an inch or two off the ground.
