HISTORY OF ACE AND QUEENIE no.7: DIRK McNASTY MODEL SHEET
This is the last of my original A & Q character sheets. Meet Dirk McNasty....small time Hood from the mean streets of Liverpool who "worked" his way up through the ranks of Britain's underworld, eventually attracting the attention of the WRAITH organization, who recruited him not long after he put a knife between the ribs of the mid level Mob boss he was working for. Dirk's job in WRAITH is overseeing the organization's "Foot Soldiers",the Henchmen,Thugs,Goons, whatever you care to call them. He's Basically the Office Manager no one likes. Dirk is oily, arrogant, vain, cowardly, sarcastic, nauseatingly sychophantic towards his superiors, while always looking for an opportunity to advance himself by whatever unscrupulous means.Despite his clownish demeanor,he is actually quite vicious and treacherous. His little catchphrase, "Not a word...not....a....single....bloody....WORD!!" is what he usually hisses through his stereotypically bad British teeth at some unfortunate underling while doing a slow burn after he's spectacularly failed in some scheme he's devised. Dirk ,who of course is convinced that he's a Ladies' Man,is infatuated with Denise, who is naturally repulsed by the little Cockney creep, whom she has derisively nicknamed "Rat Boy". She usually rewards his Amorous overtures with a well placed slap, knuckle sandwich or kick (guess where?). Dirk has appeared in the second chapter of the "Devil's flower gambit" storyline in FURRLOUGH (issue # 149) and is currently cooling his heels in jail. I modeled Dirk on Monty Python'e Eric Idle, who, after John Cleese was my favorite member of the legendary comedy troupe. Dirk is a holdover from when A & Q leaned more towards humor, and he may very well get a make over. Original artwork dated June 15th,2004.

Didn't know about that! O.O;; No,the name was inspired by the parody of the Beatles done by Eric Idle and Neil Innes-THE RUTLES (try a google search ) Eric Idle played "Dirk McQuickly"(a spoof of Paul McCartney ) and Neil Innes played "Ron Nasty"(John Lennon),the name "Dirk McNasty" came to me after I drew the character. It just seemed to fit him perfectly, and like I said,I modeled him on Eric Idle, whom I'm a big fan of.
Here's the Rutles!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qf8y7v0WIE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePaHG6g7uFw
Rusty: I have some unasked-for advice about Dirk in this post. Hope you don't mind.
Lt. Havoc describes Dirk as "another guy who is just a nutjob that is no real danger, due to the fact he is incompetent and a totally backwarded [sic]." Rusty, maybe this is what you should change if you ever give Dirk that makeover. Dirk could be deadly and have a comical edge at the same time, a la The Joker. Also, the fact that Dirk is in prison now gives you the perfect excuse to
toughen him up a little.
