Meet Razuel.

He is a Soulstone Dragon, a sub-species of intelligent dragons sired from conflict and divine intervention. The short end of that was his ancestors made a deal with a lowly god who'd offer the formerly stunted subspecies immense power at a cost of destructive insanity, or the chance of such.

The average Soulstone Dragon can breath a crystaline fire, the suspended shards of crystals exploding like lit titanium shavings, and when expelled at such a velocity they will cut, often exploding the pieces inside micro cuts and with the potential to rip apart the underlying blood vessels, should one enter deeper in the cut and explode in a delayed manner.

Aside from destructive capabilities, the average dragon of this type can morph their form, so long as it otherwise sustains their general appearance. More skilled of this species, whom have mastered the personality of their embedded gem, can change their form and just barely mute or change the hue of their color.
Additionally, the further in age one of these types of dragons become the more likely they are functionally immortal, only needing basic sustenance like conventional food or magic-empowered items, but they can otherwise become vulnerable if an anti-magic device were to become forcefully embedded into their body, nullifying most of the benefits the gems give to their kind. The Soulstone dragon society is VERY aware of this flaw and as such have made it a societal norm to teach the young to use defensive measures and avoid conflict where necessary, encouraging the hoarding (a dying tradition) of not-in-demand trinkets like linen or resources in mass abundance.


As for Razuel himself, he is the 3rd generation of this species, a Prince of the Shrouded isles, an anomalous series of jagged rock spires and islands, said to make those not guided by an inhabitant of the island mad.

At Razuel's current age he is exploring the worlds and realms as an envoy for his species, cataloguing different magics in his gem and forming trade deals in exchange for his heroics. For his species he is otherwise a young dragon, but not a whelp. More akin to 20-25 in relation to human ages, so young, stupid, but very loving.

Razuel does have his own cave home, its situated near a sea and a river within a forest, devoid of most civilizations. The walls are lined with glowing crystals, which act as sentries for unwanted people. The ones at the entrance stun and repel, the ones in the inner chambers will case a wild-magic-esque teleport spell on the individual, randomizing the location of themselves and the gear they enter with. If somehow they get in deeper they will find no actual trinkets of true value and only Razuel's hoard of incredibly soft pillows and blankets.
