Familiars (Story Update)

General
You may have noticed the "Familiar" stories are no longer in my main gallery. Do not worry (assuming that is the type of thing you worry about). The stories are just now in my scraps.
I will most likely not be posting any more of the story to my gallery until all of the novel is finished. So hopefully eventually you will see the story hit my page as a full novel and be able to read that.
I have switched to writing the book this way because I am a pretty sensitive. And the fall off in viewership with each chapter hurts me a bit more than I like to admit and makes it hard to keep writing the story. And I am way more likely to finish it this way. Thank you for having patience with me.
Also just some general story updates. Long Distance 2 is still not dead, just progressing very very very very very slowly. So hopefully a few people who read the first one will still be around when the second ones comes out.
Also, also, I will keep posting metal hound chapters on my main page and should have a new chapter soon. However I may switch to the only posting the full story strategy I am using for Familiars if I get in the same weird head space about it.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me. <3

I want to improve so I can work on a major project that I had come up with years ago. It has been so long since the idea came to mind, but it has yet to leave my thoughts. So clearly it must be a great idea if it sticks around for so long… that or I just have great interest in a series like it.
But anyway, keep up the great work and try not to overwhelm yourself with excess. Breaks are very important.
Best of luck!
Have you ever heard of NaNoWriMo? It's a writing challenge that takes place during the month of November where you try to get 50,000 words towards a novel over the course of the month. I've heard about it from a writing podcast, apparently the focus is on getting the words and story down and leaving the editing process for later.
I'm not really a writer myself, but I'm pretty sure approaching a large project like a novel is pretty overwhelming, so maybe approaching it from that direction may help somewhat? Sorry for the unsolicited advice, if you could call it that. I don't know anything about your writing process or how you approach things like that, but I just wanted to throw something potentially helpful out there anyway.
Either way, best of luck on the novel! I'm rooting for you
...Yep. The struggle is real. I had a friend who purported only to read completed works because of a fear of being left hanging. I found myself aghast when I learned this and proceeded to administer a scolding for it (which didn't change the behavior but it made me feel better). Alas, I suppose I see where it comes from. I've personally always liked the process of reading and writing not-quite-in-real-time but there are also moments it can feel like shouting into the void as an author. I can definitely relate to a reluctance to have that feeling. Someone else I know considers trying to judge one's own works via the statistics available on each post to be an absolutely psychosis-inducing task. I think it rings pretty true.
Now, I have extremely transparent motivations for saying this (TWO of them, to be precise. They are also fairly TALL motivations, who may or may not be heartwarmingly cute and occasionally a little bratty), but do let let me know if you need a spare set of eyes to look things over, or a spare set of (proverbial) ears to aid in thinking-out-loud type exercises, assuming that's part of your process.
Regardless, all the very best. You'll probably see me necroposting on some of your other stuff meanwhile. Cheers.
I've gotten through a few more chapters since the post went up so I'm slowly making some good progress. So hopefully it won't be too long till kitties graces my FA.
And I'm not against early readers. If you are interested hit me up on telegram. A link to it is posted on my FA profile.
