How should I handle less than good/medioker artwork?
This is a question I've had on my mind recently. Sometimes I order commissions and the result is a bit less than I originally expected. A few of them are already uploaded in my gallery but there's also some that I still have sitting in a folder on my computer and I want to hear from you how you think I should handle them. In the end, I see FA also as a backup of my gallery in case something would happen again with my computer. Plus even though I might not be the happiest with the results, I still want the artist to be recognized for their effort and be credited. Should I just upload them and put them in the Scraps or do you prefer to still have every picture viewable in the main gallery?
For the pieces you've already got you can ask for revisions or if you'd prefer to keep what you have but give the artists credit, the scraps section would be a good place for it if you don't want it submit with other pieces that are dear to you All about honesty hun!
Thanks for the comment :)
HOWEVER. I also know that even though I'm not 100% on some pieces, other people would still like to see and appreciate them, so maybe we should upload some of those on case by case to at least the scraps folder. This way we still share the artists work with the curious fans/watchers but have them separate from the main gallery. Iunno, just a thought.
If the artist deviates from my specifications or falls short of his previous quality, then I demand rectification. Most of the time, this is already noticeable in the draft/sketch.
But even the best sometimes fall short of their performance, and then I let them know that I'm dissatisfied. The professionals accept that.
Of course, there are also artists who think you should be grateful to have received a painting. But I don't work with them a second time.

Of course, it may be that the artist did everything the way you wanted it and the way it suits his style. But you had other, perhaps higher expectations. Or an idea that was perfect in your head, but the artist can not realize. Then, of course, the responsibility lies with you.
That's happened to me, too. Then I realized that my idea was not feasible and either accepted the compromise or paid the artist for his work to date.

I would not use FA as a backup. Use a secure cloud like MEGA or Tresorit if Apple or Google is too insecure for you. Or an external hard drive, which is even cheaper.

You don't have to upload the pictures. Uploaded pictures you want to show, present, because you like them, don't you? I would not upload a picture that does not meet my requirements. I have also already decided not to do so.
