Its just a neat problem to mull over, being naturally evolved it might not be so bad as with us Humans.

Mm ... probably not too different from our universe, truth be told. My thought might be a bit boring, but my way of thinking is just how animalistic would the beings there be? Would they be more like Zootopia, a mixture of human and animals with a delightful poke at us for being as insane as we are ... or would it be more "Eat or be eaten!"? Humans are often thought to be the most dangerous creatures in existence, especially since we haven't encountered anything that could be more dangerous than mankind. Sure, we have animals who are definitely dangerous, but when did you see a group of tigers rolling through a neighborhood, shooting up the place ... or even running down a poor schmuck in a cubical farm?

Good points, it really does depend on how the Furries came into being.
If naturally Evolution and Society would dictate the structure and If Artificial Constructs they would most likely be slapped onto whatever existing culture or society had given birth to them.

It's funny that you mentioned this sort of thought. I have been ... unsuccessfully trying to get my own characters working in their universe for years now, which started out as a possible comic idea and then later moved more into an RPG setting. Now, I write some stories when I have time, often commissioning artists to do some of the artwork. What the universe for them is a mixture of the late 1970s and into the 1980s with technology comparable to what we have now or even better. You have things like Starbucks (just cheeper and better quality) , Domino's Pizza (when they were good!), and Taco Bell (when they were fast!) Taffy owns a few businesses, one being Flatty Patty's Burger Shack out on Tybee Island, which was where her parents met back when they were in the military, and The Flip Side Comics and Games, the perfect place for nerds and artists to hang out.

My Origin story goes, Humans created Animal Constructs and needed a way to get the public to accept such a radical idea. So they created a TV show featuring them, much like ALF or Gizmo from Gremlins. The effect was a craze for these living teddy bears, the concept of a genetic construct was literally sold to the public. Time advanced war broke out and the same tech was used for war which it was already designed to do. More time goes on and Man finds peace but now what do you do with Millions of disposable soldiers, execute them or try and integrate them into your war torn societies.

Long story short Man created a Sibling race that now was responsible for, built for companionship and loyal to a fault. They take to the stars and find another world full of Anthro races but in tribal levels of society and make contact. Humans kind of force their own culture and society onto the new world and it's people. Using Constructs designed to work as translators and spies the world is taken easily with the lure of technology and an almost infinite supply of food and medicine.

I have most of the starting origin written down if you are interested, its in chapters to break it up.

Intriguing. We did something like that for a tabletop game, a mixture of Aliens! and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! with a bit of Teenagers from Outer Space! thrown in for comedy. The animals were genetically changed to be soldiers, expendable and used for exploration, colonization, and even military applications to the point that humans lost the ability to do for themselves and became the animals that they once were. Not extinct, but very much a flip of how we see a lot of animals these days. Adding the Aliens to the mix made things crazier to say the least.

I would think that would depend on how the Furries came to be, If on their own evolutionary climb Doctors. If they were created in labs then then I would guess Lab Medics with a tilt to Veterinary medicine.

Things i think of are in terms of r vs K selection in species, mammals only or are other things included, scent and pheromone use, individuality vs herd/group/pack. Social outgrouping, habitat pressures, population size and community dynamics.

Like... I've seen zootopia, I've seen Beastars, and i find myself having a lot of issues. I get it's allegorical and all, but irl predators are ridiculously outnumbered by most prey species, there are lots of rungs on the ecological ladder besides herbivore and carnivore.

Yeah I have yet to see a convincing anthro world outside of Books. Its almost impossible that several different species would reach apex intelligence especially outside their own family lines.
I still love the ones we get to see tho, it's just not likely how things would of gone down. Life is full of death and unpleasantness we never talk about or deal with.

I agree with you that clothing would be minimal. Dogs, for instance seem to know each other more from their butt scents than their faces. My guess is that animals would tend to wear nothing over butts and genital. Probably nothing at all. Grooming might be popular though.

The nudist thing may be the norm when resting, but don't see it working too well say in the Industrial applications. Like how would a furry race smelt metals? Would they wear super heavy leather guards or just take the damage the heat will do to their fur coats? Would you be able to tell a metal worker by the burns in their fur or lack of fur entirely?

Protective gear makes sense. Whatever is needed. If they worked in an office setting, they wouldn't need any protective gear. Maybe collars to show who was in charge and who was an underling.

*nods* True, I like the idea you had on Collars as one way to identify a worker or such.
Perhaps a Scent marker as well, something wearable like a scented bracelet or perfumes that suit a whole company or sector?

Of course there's that way dogs have of marking their own territory.
