As you start to unlock things, you quickly realize that everything costs Fekles. While you can purchase equipment right away, there are other kinds of lab equipment that will enable you to manufacture other critical equipment like toys, apparatuses, etc. You'll need at least one piece of science equipment to begin manufacturing other things.
The four critical equipment in this case is the Apparatus Manufacturing Bay (3,000 Fekles), ElectroForge (3,150 Fekles), Gyro Dock (2,850 Fekles), and the Material Synthesis Bay (2,250 Fekles).
When you are starting out and subjects are only dolling out 100 or 200 Fekles, you quickly see how expensive even buying one of these actually is. Even with a solid reputation, it takes time to buy one of these. Which one you buy first can make a major difference in how quickly you progress in the game.
The question is, what to buy first? You have to consider the objectives you tend to get. Chances are, when you are starting out, you will be repeatedly failing to make a number of your objectives. Some objectives are more common than others. For instance, bringing a subject to climax with a toy, at least with default settings, is more common that having a subject climax while others are watching. What's more is that bringing a subject to climax with a toy is often a random objective to get you a certain chemical. For this, I recommend gettin the Material Synthesis Bay first.
Material Synthesis Bay: After building up the Fekles with paying subjects and paid research, you'll notice that this manufacturing device has a lot to offer - especially when you unlock things. This includes butt plugs, dildos, and even a strap-on if you have the Rack Reinvented mod. The most expensive of these items only sets you back a measly 250 Fekles. This makes buying up everything for use very easy (at least, compared to buying the synthesis bay anyway).
With this, you should find it substantially easier to clear more objectives including subject specific objectives and some random objectives in the process.
Gyro Dock: You'll probably notice that some subjects are wanting a vibrating climax. A number of them respond well to vibration too. So, the next device should probably by the gyro dock. You can upgrade things like a simple Cock Ring to a vibrating cock ring. The bonus of this is that you can also complete objectives requiring you to cause the subject to climax without touching them. While there are a mere two items you can manufacture, you actually solve a bunch of the problems completing your objectives. Why this next is because you need the Material Synthesis Bay to manufacture components for the upgraded vibrating counterparts.
ElectroForge: Some subjects ask for e-stimulation. It's not as common as some of the other objectives, but it does crop up from time to time. For this, you need the electroforge. The most expensive item you can manufacture is a relatively cheap price tag of 350 Fekles. With this, you accomplish the e-stim objectives, electrocution objectives (both handles by the violet ray), and you also get a side benefit of pleasing subjects who enjoy automation (milking machine for those who have the mod).
The reason you get this third is because you only solve a handful of problems, but this does become necessary to use from time to time. You still get a decent bang for your buck, but not as big as the Synthesis Bay and the Gyro Dock.
Apparatus Manufacturing Bay: This is definitely the thing to purchase last. While it is the most visually impactful thing in the game, it is also not really worth it in normal play to buy this right away. For one, the only objective you are getting completed with this is having subjects climax while others are watching. For another, what it produces is the most expensive stuff in the game. The cheapest is the Rack Chair (2,700 Fekles). The prices go up with the Inverter Rack (2,800 Fekles), Rack Stocks (3,100 Fekles), and Rack Table (3,600 Fekles!). Adding in the 3,000 Fekles needed to purchase this, the cheapest result will set you back a whopping 5,800 - 6,600 Fekles. If you are already rationing chemicals and cash along with fighting with storage limitations for your samples, this... takes a while to get. It only makes sense to purchase this first if you are using Free Play mode (and are just playing around with the features, but that's not what this guide is all about!). It really is a late game buy.
If you get to the point of buying a second apparatus, you might want to try going for the Rack Table. This apparatus allows you to perform the anal receiving and vaginal receiving interests for your subjects (may be why it's so expensive in the first place). Otherwise, the apparatuses only affect positioning of you and the subjects, not necessarily helping you accomplish something in the game that otherwise can't be accomplished.
Eventually, you'll be able to grind up and get everything in the game. The short of this is that you essentially "beat" the game as it currently stands when you do this. Ultimately, you need to buy one additional apparatus and place it in the same room as the original Rack Chair. This allows you to clear the voyeurism objectives.
After Buying it All: By this point, you'll probably wonder what the strategies are from that point on. Simply put, you'll want to start solving that nagging storage capacity problem. To do this, you need to buy as many of the small sample storage containers as possible. Each one sets you back 750 Fekles, but if you have everything else, producing chemicals to complete paid research and pleasing your subjects shouldn't be all that hard at this point. You already have a shelf, a table, and a wall mounted shelf in the default room, so placing these items should be no problem.
If you want to maximize your space, however, then note that it is possible to put one sample container on the back of the large shelving unit and squeeze in a second on the front part of the shelf. You really can go two units deep on this which helps you conserve space. It isn't exactly the most necessary thing to do, but it is most certainly possible.
After a while, you'll be able to store hundreds of samples at a time. Since it's very easy to make a subject produce a hundred or so, it starts to make more sense to start pleasing the subjects with voyeurism interests. This is somewhat similar to the original Rack game to begin with, though it's harder to pull off given how few subjects actually enjoy this. Still, with increased storage capacity, you can not accommodate two subjects without having to worry too much about filling up your storage capacity.
With the samples being processed all the time, it should be easier to have a constant stockpile of chemicals to work with. Try to focus on the chemicals that are more than possible to get, but you sometimes run low on. After that, do your chemical conversions on what is left to keep yourself stockpiled on the last remaining chemical or two you are having trouble collecting.
The last thing you'll probably want to do is start exploring the other apparatuses with the two other rooms in the game. Light fixtures and light controls are dirt cheap by this point in the game, though building up the cash to buy the other remaining apparatuses might take a little bit of grinding to get.
Ideally, you'll want two apparatuses in each room. Probably a Rack Chair and whatever you are interested in using after. The reason for this is if you suddenly get a subject that wants you to make them climax while others are watching, you can draw a second subject to satisfy this.
Beyond that, the world is your oyster in this game. You can mix, match, and play around with whatever because there isn't anything else to really work towards in this game outside of getting absolutely everything in the game.
Obviously, things can easily change as development of this game (and the mod) continue. Still, this should provide a useful snapshot of where we are at now. I hope you find this three part guide useful if you intend on trying to play this game more legitimately than the Free Play mode. Have fun!

Im only able to access the rack chair/inverter/etc manufacturing bay, gyro machine and the one that makes materials. the only two toys i have access to are the cock ring, vibrating cock ring, and a vibe wand. what exactly am i missing to unlock the others?
