I may have mentioned in the past that there is a theory that binds together the western and chinese zodiacs. That theory being that rather than stars influencing how we develop as people, the solar cycles do. There is a 12 phase annual cycle and an 11 year cycle that coincides with those zodiacs. Now here's some scientific evidence that these solar cycles do result in radiation that has repeating, developmental effects on life on earth.

THat's it, son, it's about to go down >:[
It's hard to be a son when I'm someone's daughter. Your smilie face is not so smilie.
Also, get off my West Coast >:[
Thanks, now I won't be able to sleep D:
I'm surprised to see how many slaves to free will there are running around these days. Something must be done, my friend.
(Snake and Leo, until death!)
And how would it be a waste of time? What greater pursuit does one such as you have that surpasses experiencing life? And please don't think that you can't "have fun" without free will, that sounds terribly rebellious of you.
If you choose to disbelieve something like this and emphasize the "free will" that you feel you have, by all means do so. You can't deny that you are only a product of your surroundings, but a slave to your own illusions.
Most people also need to realize there are other factors to astrology that make it more precise. Such as cuspians (people born in between the changing of two signs, such as my boyfriend born on the first day of Cancer), and the fact you technically have 3 signs in Western Zodiac. (As I don't know much about the Chinese one). Your sun sign which is your commonly known one, your moon, and your rising/ascendant sun. There are also different decans in each sign depending on your exact birthdate and all that. As well as natal charts to show how many degrees you are into all 3 of your signs.
The sun is usually more of a representation of your soul, your moon is your heart, and the rising sun is "the face you show the world" for a casual definition.
However, at least for me and all the people I know they are eerily accurate with their personality descriptions. Especially when you get more in depth like that. And that's not a bash against free will or choosing your own path, its just an interpretation of self. The daily/weekly/monthly whatever ones trying to say how your life will be for that time period is the only thing your comment seems to apply to. :>
This has been especially well tested when it comes to those personality descriptions, with consistent results of 80%+ saying that it described them well or very well even though everyone in the study received the exact same description.
And again, the first point was for the daily horoscope thing. I already know about that and debunk it personally, cause again. Self fulfilling prophecy since most of it isn't very personal at all. Its about the same as reading your fortune in a fortune cookie.

And those _are_ about detailed natal charts, not daily horoscopes.
If astrology worked, why does no astrologer want to be paid a million dollars for doing at most a couple dozen charts? Not to mention the advertising value of having won the Randi prize.
and don't get me wrong, cuz i guess you didn't get what i posted "furies don't believe in anything." you don't know how many times I've seen a furry self proclaim them self "atheist <insert witty text here>" in my opinion y'all just a bunch of pussy that can't take the criticism religion gives y'all, but that's just my opinion.
So please don't generalize us like that, and don't you dare try to disguise a blatant insult as "just your opinion". Also, the problem isn't religion, it's the faith required to follow it. I may not follow any established religion, but my own beliefs are often taken to be even MORE outlandish then say a Fundamentalist Christian (Again, refer to my defense of astrology). But that really is just me.
Last, if you're so keen on generalizing and stereotyping furries, what the hell are you doing here in the first place? And I'm afraid you'll find the criticism furries receive for being furry alone is also quite the burden. But you knew that.
now my problem is that this is what happen, most furs that get into religious disputes usually end up pulling things like this out of there ass and trowing it down there and getting it personal....
my thought on furrys and religion is not how i was raised it's by what the furrys have shown me.
the FPC has about 6 people on there block list from spamming and annoying there admin and moderators (is one), when the FPC does nothing more then prays for the sick and the dead, and these people go there and spam them, it's sad how they degrade them selves.
So listen here, kid, when you go around calling all furries pussies, no shit they're going to get personal. Don't try and hide under the guise of some holy man that just prays for the sick and the dead, because you're a hypocrite. And as a moderator of a group whose number one point on their page is "Respect others", you sure do a good job of disrespecting anyone without a religion. And why? Because you think they don't belive because they're "just a bunch of pussy that can't take the criticism religion gives [them]"?
I don't give a shit about your FPC, this is between me and your.
wow, man take a fucking chill pill. it sucks i can criticize most people and get in trouble but be called a "kid" and you to getaway with it.
now the thing is this i don't give a shit either ill keep thinking most homosexual furry atheist are pussy's cuz they can't take criticism now get over it, they've proved me that's what most of um do, you can't disproved what you've proved
And likewise. You've proven yourself to be the most disrespectful, high-ridden individual I've ever come across, and what's better you represent a supposed group of tolerance and respect as a moderator. Good job!
This is a small, localized study.
The observed effect is weak.
The probable mechanism for any effect is through the known impact of energetic particles on cloud formation.
As for it supporting astrology, this is one of those where you can see it, if you turn your head sideways and squint.
One example involved a divorce between my parents, looked up both of their signs, and sure enough there were problems :P
Not fun, btw.
That's what I meant by Astrology giving people hope. Because people are afraid of the true chaotic nature of the world and they will cling to the fantasy of a “destiny” written in the stars.
I also once thought that anything that involved hope or faith to work was instantly rubbish, however I soon discovered this an even MORE pretentious and arrogant outlook on the world. I had evolved from "what I believe is true" to "you're all wrong, period." I can only ask you to reconsider, nothing more.
Also, referring to these things as crap also doesn't help either, but I'm not here to lecture you.
Unless its they believe their ever day horoscope and all that, to which you can see my post above. :<
1. No one knows the future.
Secondly horoscopes were designed as away in ancient times to explain certain aspects of ones personality. Infact mythology was used to explain all sorts of things.
Wasnt until some one said " X events are caused by natural forces." did we start getting closer to the truth.
What your proposing sounds enticing but its misleading. The thought of solar cycles (11 of the solar behaviors detected) effect life is true and believable. To extrapolate it into saying it sets personality is quite a stretch. There are too many factors that effect personality, genetics, upbringing, life experiences. All of which play a role that cant be simply defined by 8640 possible out comes.
I would say its also impossible to determine in a scientifically and unbiased way, that horoscopes had an effect on personality based on celestial events. Due to the fact that the population sample is biased due the persons knowledge of there own sign(s).
There would be a population that wanted to live up to their sign. Which would skew the data one way and then you could have a set population that does not believe and they could skew it in the other direction.
So it would be difficult to verify anyways. Leading neurological research is showing that the personality resides in the brain. Yes that wonderful organ that is the power house of just about everything we do.
And just to correct a HUGE error that i see people still spout out this day is the term " We only use 10 % of our brain" this was proposed in 1910 thats right 1910 before, Pet scans, MRIs, Immunohistochemistry. Its incorrect. We use a majority of our brains and it can be seen using the aforementioned techniques, and new developing tehcniques. As a NeuroScientist I felt I should say that :P
Btw Gemini+Water Dog
However what I do believe is that influence on our development and genes can alter how our brains and organs develop. These parts of our bodies can predictably alter our moods and personalities. The time spent gestating in the womb and the conditions found therein are the single largest determining factor in how we will grow up.
We will figure it out though hehe. :)
oh well, the scientific process is long and arduous.
that the relative position of the planets and the stars could have
a special deep significance or meaning that exclusively applies to only you,
but let me give you my assurance that these forecasts and predictions
are all based on solid, scientific, documented evidence, so you would have
to be some kind of moron not to realize that every single one of the is absolutely true. o/~
