As someone who is left I’m interested in why he supports the BLM.

Because centrists and right-wingers aren't the racists the left thinks they are. It's the left's hubris that leads it to believe it's the only side that champions equal rights and protections under the law.

Remember, the left-wing exists to come up with new ideas*, and the right-wing exists to determine whether or not to integrate those ideas into social norms*.

*not all new ideas are good ones
