“Clients will have to access income supports through the province, ‘life stabilization’ supports through municipalities, and employment services through a new provider that could very well be a private corporation overseeing a patchwork of employment services providers.”
That “life stabilization” system, Mason said, is part of the Ford government’s efforts to develop a new “intake system.”
“This new intake system contains many red flags especially for people with disabilities,” Mason said. “Intake workers are being compelled to stream disabled applicants towards ‘life stabilization’ services and away from ODSP, in an effort to cauterize caseload numbers. We have already heard of such instances from folks within our community.”
“The UK model, which the province appears to be emulating,” Mason said “includes the traumatic Work Capability Assessment (WCA), which is conducted by companies such as Atos and Maximus and has led to terrible outcomes for people with disabilities, including a disturbing number of suicides.”
So the company in the UK that is responsible for all the ASD suicides in the UK https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-ne.....-dead-20080050 is coming to Ontario to 'recommend everyone on ODSP go through an eligibility work assessment as a condition of benefits' is gonna cut everyone who is "Asperger/level 2 ASD" or higher off of our support and lead us into the hole that is "life stabilization". Dough ford and his party already believe too many mentally ill are illegitimately receiving benefits (and need to have enough pills shoved down their throats to cure them) so this ideal is looking like it is going to become official provincial policy.
This province already leaves us in no mans land to be poisoned by DRs who don't know what ASD is enough as it is and refuse to look at case notes more then 5 years old.
I know personally as persona-non-grata in my city among agencies and employers "stabilization" is not possible under my finances or in this locale. And only a single 1974 case gives me any legal ability to get any financial support at all.
- I cannot count on family for financial or material support--though ODSP may make me sue my family. No one is gonna hire me in this shitty city no matter what I do unless its a below minimum wage (training wage) or they get a big fat paycheck from Doug Ford. even then its basically being child-ed like an invalid while mopping floors 15 hours a week. (oh yeah that's in the hands of a private contractor who doesn't "shelter" people anymore)
- I have no local friends capable of such support nor do i want to burden them.
- I have documented hand eye coordination issues so anything requiring "speed and precision" is a no go for me. basically anything physical will just mean me going to a judge to argue neurology details or being called "lazy' instead of avoiding 4th degree burns and messing up a 500 dollar pot of soup. Lets not even mention what hell hospitality is (and its the only damn "entry level" type of work here unless you commit employment fraud and speak french).
- I went bankrupt with active student loans [b]SO I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO RECEIVE STUDENT LOANS AGAIN/b] leaving out most "brain based jobs". There is nothing in this province that is available otherwise to pay for me to have a REAL diploma degree or certificate in anything. Unless we do the "study or starve" thing like before I left the institution when i was 16.
- They don't know how to diagnose me properly so my mental health is only gong to be trashed by this company that doesn't seem to honor human rights accommodations right. My doctor refuses to give me a one criteria diagnosis and these idiots don't care about anything else.
All I can do is wait and see what the policy and legislation becomes. But it is mostly likely meaning I am going to have to move to Manitoba or BC to get my needs met.
Though that will most likely mean a legal endorsement and a few months to a year homeless in that new province to get a disability pension.

I'm trying to stay calm and keep stable but its hard. I had a premonition something bad was gonna come too x.x
I have experienced a huge amount of trauma and conflict over my issues throughout my life and this whole "reform thing" has me more skittish than a spider right now x.x
