Of Masters and Tasks

Once again, great title XD (Spoilers ahead if you haven't seen 'Black Widow')
I'm typing this out, cuz I came across something about one certain element in Black Widow that's gotten the nerds' jimmies ruffled. Particularly that of one Taskmaster. And I wanted to give my two cents on it.
Now if I've said this once, I've said it more than once: I consider myself a casual comics fan. If a particular issue tickles my fancy, I buy it and/or wait when the paperback comes around. So I don't have an extensive knowledge about certain characters. Hell there's a jagillion X-Men members these days, nevermind different teams. So yeah, I don't know too much about Taskmaster. I didn't even know he existed until 2015 when I bought an Avengers Encyclopedia just before 'Age of Ultron' came out. I thought he was a knockoff of Dr. Doom with the cape and all. I mean look at Carjack in the first issue of 'Thunderstrike'. (Where they equate carjacking a national disgrace and terrorism, BTW. Though with Marjorie Taylor Greene, she probably equates it to communism, but I'm getting off track). I didn't fully acknowledge him till an episode of 'Ultimate Spider-Man' where he can mimic moves just by looking at him, and I really dug that.
Where am I going with this? Well when I learned Taskmaster was gonna be a villain in 'Black Widow' I was stoked, and still liked the character after the reveal. Other peeps decried the MCU Taskmaster as a waste and not that talkative mercenary named Tony Masters. I didn't even know he had a real identity till yesterday at the time of this journal's entry. I always thought his identity was never revealed. My point is, I liked the reveal that this silent Taskmaster was the scarred up Antonia Dreykov, and under her scumbag father's control. It really ties with all the red in Natasha's ledger that she wants to wipe out. (wink wink) So I don't mind at all that the MCU Taskmaster isn't like in the comics. Even before the reveal Taskmaster was like a silent Terminator.
'But we already had that with Winter Soldier Bucky' so whined the fanboys. Yeah, and there were other Winter Soldiers too, which made Bucky obsolete in some areas as we saw in the movies. There's always gonna be a better version of something is what I'm saying.
And as we've established for over 13 years now, the MCU flicks take creative liberties to make things plausible.
Or did you want a 'Doctor Strange' movie where Wong is his manservant? Or how about a direct version on comic Thanos where he was killin' folks just trying to woo Death herself, and we end up saying, 'Dude, she's just not into you.' And I can't even imagine you wanting a far more comic-accurate version of 'Civil War' where everyone's stupid, an asshole, or both.
And let's face it, even if they did make Taskmaster in the movie that talkative mercenary (That should clue you in on why they probably HAD to change it *cough* Deadpool *cough*) it'll just be a lose/lose, cuz the same fanboys WILL STILL whine and bitch about it, since they can never be pleased, saying: "THE MCU IS JUST MAKING TASKMASTER THEIR OWN VERSION OF DEADPOOL SINCE THEY DON'T OWN HIM YET!" and/or "WHY ARE THE MCU VILLAINS ALWAYS TALKING AND SO JOKEY!?!?! WAAAH WAAAHH!!"....shut up. I've read far more; crazier, homophobic, misogynistic, xenophobic, racist and downright disgusting things fanboys wanted to see in MCU movies on the, thankfully gone since 2016, iMDB boards when they were still a thing. Like how one truly sick asshole wanted a scene where Loki rapes Black Widow. It'll shock you.
That's all I got to say, but man, I should really not type these things while hungry XD
Thanks for your time.

FA+

When I first saw Rocket Raccoon in the game, never knowing of the Guardians of the Galaxy's existence, I thought he was a Capcom character. I thought a gun-totting raccoon was the level of crazy-cool only Capcom would come up with after that cactus dude XD
