PATREON RESTRUCTURING 2: THE COOLER RESTRUCTURING

So. I really need to start focusing on this fuckin thing more again and a little less on custom coms. I'm so ungodly burnt out it's not even funny and I want to pursue more non-commission projects thru here! Plus, I've noticed engagement and pledges have gone down, esp since I've been so slow to get to actual art and update everything. Fuck even the Shen pic for OCTOBER is still not done because I've been trying to get through my queue first. I fuckin HATE being so behind and slow. I do NOT want to be that artist that's known to only deliver once a century.
So what do I have planned to get engagement back up, mitigate the burnout, and make this my priority income? Well buckle up, I've got an even better restructuring plan.
Most things are staying generally the same, but I decided to add and change a few tier rewards to make it more appealing for people, but to also more evenly distribute my workload so this burnout shit doesn't keep happening over and over again.
Here's a basic rundown of the rewards each tier will have. As you go up the rewards from previous tiers still apply unless otherwise stated!
(Keep in mind comics will probably not be a priority until I've gotten this more stabilized so it'll probably be a bit until you see any rewards pertaining to comics. I still have every intention of doing them though.)
Bronze
- Finished pics
- Monthly pic voting
- ONE idea bucket submission per month
- Comic access month after release
Silver
- Work in progress pics
- Up to TWO idea bucked submissions per month
- Comic access when finished
Gold
- Chance for single character monochrome bust sketch, once monthly
- Comic WIPs
Platinum
- Chance for monochrome fullbody/waist-up sketch, once monthly
- Comic cameos? Big maybe on this one but it'd be cool to do!
- First dibs on commission openings before public openings
Titanium
-Chance for colored fullbody/waist-up sketch, once monthly
- First dibs on commissions + 15% discount on commissions
OTHER VARIOUS REWARDS AND THINGS SUCH AS
-Monthly “pinup” illustrations from list of characters, usually come with kinky alt versions (already been doing this one, definitely want to keep doing this, but might expand the pool outside my own OCs :3c)
-Idea bucket, where people submit their ideas for either pinup drawings, comics, or just standalone pics. Feedback on how people would like this done is very much appreciated.
-Comics stay Patreon exclusive for a few months before being posted publicly with full res zip file download.
- Chance every month for TWO patrons from GOLD, ONE from PLATINUM, ONE from TITANIUM tier to get a custom sketch!
- Patreon exclusive sketches and one-offs?
- PSD and full res downloads for finished pics?
So my goal with these is not JUST to help avoid more burnout and distribute my workload a little more evenly between stuff for patrons and stuff for commissioners, but to encourage more people to pledge! I'd like this to be my primary form of income best I can, but without completely running myself ragged trying to keep everyone happy without focusing too much on patreon art or commission art.
Trying to find a balance has been pretty hard to maintain so far but I'm learning more and more skills to help with my executive functioning problems and self-discipline and I am confident that I can stick to this model without much trouble. I plan to be as honest and open with all y'all as I can so you guys aren't just left in the dark not knowing what I'm doing with your money. You guys deserve better than me being slow as shit getting any content out because I'm so damn stressed trying to get things done.
I'm going to be enacting these changes in JANUARY 2022!
Any feedback at all is appreciated, suggestions, critiques, anything at all. I want to make my community more lively again, I miss actually ENJOYING my art career and not feeling like it's just a job. I love art, I love my supporters, and I want to give even more back to everyone who's stuck with me. Y'all make all of this possible and it brings me no greater joy than to make others happy with art <3
