Same haha. Its only when i started going on mobile that I was like ohhh..

Even though I run adblock myself, I got a month long ad a few years ago.
It actually got me quite a few new followers, so I'd say it's something to definitely consider if you want to get more watchers! :D

When I go on mobile FA - usually at night or in the morning to check notifications before I've hopped onto my laptop, sometimes the ads there catch my eye, so I've also followed quite a few people from their ads as well

Yeah I mainly just want to see if it brings over more people rather than just randomly stumbling on my art/word of mouth. But if the follower gain ratio is about the same, then I probably wont continue with it :'D

I've clicked on some myself the few times I went on mobile haha. But yeah I probably wouldn't have found them any way otherwise.

I think a lot of people probably have adblock, so I'm not really sure if it would help boost your account!
Saying that, if you're willing to pay for ads then I don't see the harm in doing it either. Who knows!

I used them years ago and they were great! There's a bunch of people who whitelist FA so they can see the ads.

I plan to try them again in the future after I get more art posted.

I would whitelist, but sometimes people make really raunchy ads here and i dont want to accidentally leave FA open with em, since i have some people who barge in my room. xD If im on my phone its a bit more private haha.

Guilty as charged! I find all those animated, blinking banners that all compete for my attention annoying. I prefer my internet experience clean and no-blinky-blinky, you know?
I have no idea how FA-ads work or cost, but why not give it a shot if you're curious? You'll probably find out if they're worth renewing in the end :>

I can feel that haha. Though as an artist, I know the struggle and hustle that comes with getting yourself out there, so im a bit more lenient with ads like these. :'D
The cheapest plan is $25/mo for the smallest size banner, but for a larger size, its around $60/75/mo. Its not too bad when you compare how much ads normally cost on other sites haha.

i wouldnt do it tbh. the amount of third party ads you need to contend with makes it really not worth it in my opinion. (especially given most people view on mobile and 3rd party ones will show up more often than not)

I’m on mobile a lot and I never get 3rd party ads. I always see artists ads only.

From my experience, I've only noticed the third party ones up on the top as the largest banner, but I only see them once. The artist ads are still the most prolific ones. (usually theres about 4 of them or so at a time).

I've never once clicked a FA ad on purpose. Generally I find artists through their art being shared on various platforms, or other artists I already follow shouting them out. Personally I wouldn't recommend it.

I've clicked on a few out of curiosity, but yeah I still mainly find people through art sharing/browsing through galleries/favorites. xD
I'd say most of the ads I've seen dont really catch my attention unless the art is good haha.

I don't block FA's ads and I actually really like them, I've found a lot of artists through FA ads.

In fact, I wish you could *browse* FA ads and see them all :) Sadly, you can't as far as I know.

Yeah theres been times where I've actually wanted to click an ad that I skipped, but i can never find it again, even after refreshing a hundred times haha. xD

With ads, even with the small one for $25, every day I have 2-5 new watchers and several commissions requests per week. But it really depends on your own promotion, gallery, artstyle, banner (how it looks like), prices, and other points of the situation!

For example, my BF is less active on FA and has a smaller amount of arts in the gallery, so he has worse activity from his AD. But the number of views and clicks (FA gives you a statistic of this by e-mail) is the same for him and me.

So, yes, for me it's clearly beneficial!

P.s. I haven't ADblock so sometimes I click on other artists' banners too!

Thats true, I think if I do wanna go through with it, i might wanna have more animation examples since those tend to be the most eye catching.

Thats interesting though! Its cool that FA does that for you, and it'd help to compare it to my usual stats too haha.

I have AdBlock on my desktop but there have been quite a few times where ads have caught my eye while on mobile. It's all going to boil down to how you are looking to present yourself though.

Yeah I've seen some that are nicely advertised, but then I see others that literally tell me nothing about what the artist is about lol. xD

Personally I leave adblock off for FA since the ads are pretty inoffensive here, and I have found some stuff of interest among the ads before. It could work if you make your ad funny/eye-catching/memey enough.

I've seen a couple that are teetering on pornographic though, so I still prefer to keep adblock on at least on desktop, but I'm fine on mobile :'D
For me personally, the ones that tend to catch my eye are the ones that offer something different than usual and of course, nice art quality haha.

Fa is probably the only site I don't use adblock on because of artist ads, I've found tons of artist thru them.

I don't have anything worth taking out an ad for, but I do use FA mobile and see all of their ads. I basically just ignore them and only click on them accidentally more than on purpose. In general I don't think banner ads boost sales much if anything unless you have something really eye catching.

That might be true, but I mainly just want to see how well it does to help others find me. I dont expect my sales/art demand to go up too much though :'D

Fair. Doing a quick Google search says it does increase visibility on your page even if it's not much of an increase. It might be worth trying even for a short while.

I think it is worthwhile, I've found many neat artists by clicking banners on the site along with an increase in watchers, views, inquiries, etc. from using it myself.
As some people have pointed out how you present your banner will impact how often/likely people might click it, but if you're looking for more people to notice your page, wanting to commission you, etc. I think you'll find it beneficial.
Of course you can always just try it for a month and see what you think within that time frame.

Yeah thats mainly the plan! I'm pretty okay with my follower growth currently, but I just want to see if the ads help a bit more with that, than just constantly pumping out art and relying on word of mouth haha.

I found ads SUPER helpful in the past, and priced relatively affordably. There were a couple of times where they took a long while to get back to me, and would throw in free months of ad space.
Some people whitelist FA, and I think even the traffic you get from mobile is still nice. Any eye-catching artwork still gets me clicking ads here. They also send you weekly (or monthly, I can't remember) stat reports for your ads.

I haven't used them for myself but I do actually sometimes click them when I'm on a device that doesn't have adblock, if that helps any! It introduces me to more artists and I end up at least following them more often than not.

Yeah I'm thinking of trying the lowest tier first, and if it works good for me, I'll see about continuing it. :> I usually dont have issues selling things here, but expanding my follower base (and possibly customer base) is worth it i think!

i don't mind the FA hosted ads as it's usually furry fandom related ads and doesn't use any tracking like google.
