Policy Update: TAXES!

Yippee...!
So as some of you know, the US tax branch will be looking into the taxes of anyone who pulls in over $600 per year via digital bank accts - venmo, cashapp, Paypal, etc.
This means I will have to start charging a tax amount on top of my sales total - something I honestly should have been doing but hadn't really understood if I needed to or not.
Unfortunately, starting in January 2022, I will be charging a 15.3% tax rate on top of sale finals - this is the freelancer tax rate here. It's incredibly steep and I apologize to anyone who is put off by it. I am certainly not comfortable with it, but it's better to start now and not go to jail for tax fraud/have to pay ~$1500+ at the start of 2023, etc.
If anyone is knowledgeable about freelancer taxes and stuff like that, please message me! Or if you have tax friends who are experienced with career artists and have knowledge about California taxes, let them know my dumb ass is scared about it and needs help LOL
That's all for now! Thanks again for sticking around, you guys.
Also, if I got the freelancer tax rate wrong, let me know! It's so goddamn steep lol but I know income tax chunks everybody's paychecks.

FA+

Hope it helps :3
Thats more than fair tho, not pushing me away as a potential client
Will the tax be calculated up front n visible on your pricesheet?
I'm glad it's not pushing you away, you're great to work with! Thank you for sticking around <3
And not a problem <3
I suppose it was only a matter of time before this happened, though. The powers that be finally realized that the internet is a 'real thing' where business actually happens. Or, I suppose, they realized it can happen with smaller people on smaller scales. :P
Anyway, good for you for being proactive and up front with your audience about it.
But yeah, figured I'd get a headstart and let people know in advance. I have folks who are interested in openings already and I want them to know the deal.
