Life Updates!

Oh man, where has this year gone?? Sooooo much has happened in my life in a relatively short time!
Firstly,
xXpuppyrawrsXx and I are planning to attend Furnal Equinox 2022!! Let's just hope this time it comes to fruition! :'3
Next, I got a new job!! :D I am now a Network Engineer II at a worldwide medical technology manufacturer. Of course, this is a BIG step up in my career, as well as a BIG pay increase - more than 50% over what I was making before! :D Also, while I work at their main HQ, I only go into the office twice a week, working from home otherwise!
We got a new apartment!! This job opportunity did mean I had to relocate...well, "had" is a really strong word, lol. I was very eager to move back to my old stomping grounds - we are now living in a town that's just 2 towns away from my hometown!! And the city I work in is actually a city I've already worked in before, while living with my parents! Our new place is a 2-family home, with the neighbors having the upstairs unit and we have the downstairs one. Our neighbors are an amazing couple, around our age, that are just total sweethearts.
It's absolutely GORGEOUS, and definitely feels MUCH more like "home"!! We really love this place. It's a 2-bedroom unit with a nice big kitchen, living room, and dining room, it has central heat and A/C (and two ceiling fans), dishwasher and garbage disposal, a jacuzzi tub, a separate laundry room (and came with a nice washer & dryer, they belonged to the previous tenants who didn't want to take them out when they moved to Florida, so I sold off my old ones and kept these), it has a nice big back yard, and hardwood floors throughout (except the kitchen & bath are tile, and one bedroom is carpet).
It's located on a side street, nice and quiet but also a mere 45-second drive to the main road. Everything we could possibly need is within 5-10 minutes of here. That includes (for those of you who know me well, this is a big deal!) a Wegmans - the very same one I used to shop at when I lived with my parents, except we're much closer to it now. Plus, my parents, as well as Alex's mom & brother, are both about an hour and a half away now - no more having to drive 3 hours each way to see my folks! Dad is turning 81 in 4 days (and unfortunately, today has tested positive for COVID...), so visiting them is much easier now.
In other news, I got a brand new car! It's a 2021 Ford Mustang GT Premium, with a 460HP 5.0L V8 and 6-speed manual.
I really love this thing - has all the automatic everythings (except transmission >:3), including things like lane-keeping assist (it will steer itself to keep within the lane), adaptive cruise (it'll slow down when I approach a car, even brake if it has to - even slam on the brakes if it really has to! That's already happened - it can notice a sudden stop ahead before you do!), automatic climate control/wipers/dimming mirror/high beams, heated/cooled seats, 12" LCD dashboard with 8" touchscreen/GPS, cellular connectivity (can check fuel/oil levels, tire pressure, GPS tracking location, lock & unlock the doors, all from an app). And of course, one of the best features is the Active Exhaust, which allows me to dynamically change the loudness of the exhaust, from quiet (no louder than like a Crown Vic), to straight-pipe Track mode, as well as a "Quiet Hours" schedule, which, if I start the car between the times I set, will start it in Quiet mode.
If you're intaurested, I have some photos here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ejhk7mj87xQjwLbeA and a video of them pulling it out from the showroom floor here (Active Exhaust was in Normal - there are 2 settings louder than this ;3): https://youtu.be/oFiLNweLUTA
Also, I finally made it to 200lbs ./////.;; I'm pretty short - only 5'5" so this is actually quite a lot of weight on me, I'm already quite chubby! - but now I'm in the 200 club! X3 Been packing it on pretty rapidly lately, too. ^////^;;
Well that's all for now! 2021 has been an amazing year for us. Hopefully 2022 will be even bettaur, especially if we finally get to go to some cons again!! :D
