There is quite a story to this band, hehe. I fell in love too, her voice is just so strong and emotional, Otep gives off this beautiful message that I just love so much. Not to mention the metal hardcore feel it has makes it that much more enjoyable.

Well as you can tell, She "Otep" has a powerful message to deliver. Ever since day one of her life she faces some sort of abuse, from her father raping her, to living on a sidewalk because she was screwed out of her home, to losing her closest to war because religion and society "corrected" them. Her songs speak of how messed up the world is because of how leashed and under control we are by societies expectations and influences. I guess I find it interesting because I've been through, or helped others through similar situations and somehow found beauty at the end of it all.
