Furries IRL In the future?

Lots of people like to think about the possibility of real life furries, but often they look to genetic engineering for the answer. I think a much more realistic way to see them exist is through robotics. In fact I believe that by the time we have functional humanoid robots, we'll also have them modified to look like anthros. This effectively lets us skip over the uncanny valley, a major hurdle if we want to integrate life like machines into our society.
We may even see such things in our lifetime. After all it's just Asimo in a Fursuit :P

FA+

beastiality, or robobeastiality in this case.
what you don't see in jail is when you are bent, ass up, for Bubba's pleasure, he has put on bunny ears. enjoy furry partner.
cheers!
the problem is they arent going to be able to just hook a usb cable up to your skull and suck the entirty of your being over into mechanical interface...unless they actually remove your brain and place it into a mechanism, it would basically be the same as cloneing an os and stored data onto a different computer, where it may or may not be properly formatted to run the hardware in its new running environment
so basically, with current limitations of technology, you would at best be able to mirror your self into a mechanical interface, but it would still only be a copy...you would still be you
i see something like the matrix happening before complete prostetic replacement imo xD
XDDDD
sorry... i really had to laugh. just because that sentence is so funny.
i love ghost in the shell btw, even innocence. s.a.c. was unnecessary.
the series wasnt that good, just a standart sci fi criminal series, only with the gits cast. the major never fused with the pm in this alternate universe, it plays very often in bright daylight (and the city and its outskirts are very bright and friendly looking, almost nothing is dark or grim) and batou is often the comic relief character... *sighs* its not a bad series, its just a sacrilege to the original movies.
the problem is that then we could end up creating the "skynet" situation.
and about thinking robots, i only have seen robots that could only do stuff they have been programmed to do. thinking robots would actually be required to realise a situation and act on their own, by logically connecting different acts and facts together. i think we are far away from that to happen.
Humans in the now transforming into anthropomorphic creatures is not possible either. Again, the playing God thing will come into what's going on, and we'll never get that far into something like that anyways with how the world (especially america) profits from sick people. I mean, giving someone a body they would like to have? People would say the cosmetic surgery we have today should be good enough... Society is still sorta iffy on people changing genders... To change into a whole new figure and be a different species like that? Nope, not gonna happen.
"Real life furries" will only be robots in suits. We won't ever think about robots evolving into their own sentient being. I mean, look at every movie that has robots like that... By the time robots become that advanced and we realize they will inherit the world once we're gone, it'll be too late (unless things pan out like A.I.: Artificial Intelligence).
At any rate, though it won't be happening, but if it does, I hope Mystic Mayan Jesus takes out the Christian folk before blowing up the world.
Not so. The DNA was entirely human, but the cells were from rabbits. Replace the DNA in a cell and (for the most part) it becomes that of whatever the DNA is for. There would be some differences such as the mitochondria lineage from rabbits still, but in most respects it would act and grow as a normal human cell. The media (or religion, whatever) misrepresented what the actual science behind what was being done was going to actually do. They called the cells animal-human hybrid cells which is technically correct, but it would not have resulted in anthro-rabbits or a freak of nature.

I can imagize robots as "fursuit" and only for fun and entertainment without consciousness.
I saw that movie(I can't believe a movie with Bruce Willis in it actually sucked! D=). While the idea of that is somewhat cool, the cool part is mostly for, say, military benefit. A robot being for civilian use, at the most, would be used for heavy manual labor like a construction vehicle. I'd still prefer genetics due to realism, but if what they say about genetic coding being impossible, I wouldn't be too opposed to the idea of robot furries.
As long as 90% of the world doesn't end up wearing a robot suit because they're a gullible fad chaser, I think it'd be a fun idea to test out, at the least.
Somatic stem cell research is a less ethically turbulent venue. I do recall reading an article about that research. The term used for a cell reverting to a stem cell is called cell plasticity. Its an exciting field to be sure. I do think however that embryonic stemcell research would accelerate the process by which we find the underlying mechanisms to cell programming. Once that was discovered Embryonic research would be minimized.
As for RL furries I don't see this happening ever with genetics. We as a human race have to many other problems to deal with honestly. Think about it humans cant get along on there own, anthropomorphic animals would just create another group to be feared and brutilized. Once humans can get along and all cultures find common ground, I think it might be doable.
Only the Federal Funded projects. Non-Federally funded projects can use whatever stem cells they want however they are gathered. Granted the Federal Government funds a lot fo projects, but this jsut showed many scientific institutions reasons they should not rely on the Federal Government to fund their projects.
I want cel shade sunglasses X3

if robots like the ones in I, Robot could be made, then making them anthro would in no way be far off
alternatly, if genetics would be an answer - the 'splicing' like the stuff in Batman future could be an option (if something that simple could be done)
would make the clothing industry facepalm though - all the dudes who'd splice up a massive horse wang... no pants would ever fit
Cookie to anyone that gets that.
srsly tho, AI isnt that far off, so making stuff look like furries isnt a big deal at all :3
Or maybe we'll get invaded by martian space vixens, then no one will have to worry about doing any of the work ^^
still...better than a nuke taking us all out
at least thats the official version. if there is indeed a way to enhance our health or whatever, there will be big companies all over it. its all about the big profit. or its even worse, thinking about monsanto now.
so the idea with robotics is actually much more promising there. although i personally hope that there will be some sort of matrix aswell. its possible to connect living cells with chips, so it might be possible to create virtual realities someday, that would seem real to us. and then i think it would be only a matter of time for matrix sl or something like that =P with full body avatars.
unless you have a very detailed photographic imagination.
YO I'M ABOUT TO EAT (|| u]
Raptor bombs! I gotta write that idea down...
Sooooo I suppose the robotic fur idea could possibly prove more plausible. Guess we'll have to wait and see :3

You also need to see "Electrogonorrhea the noisy killer..."
do not give the robots power, of this i warn thee
A naturalized (gene therapy) process I would most certainly accept.
"INITIATING VAGINAL HATCH CLOSE"
"Wait what?! NO! Don't close the Hatch! I'm still insi-"
*SNAP*
As technology has improved, I am fairly certain I could create this anthro, and as commented before, I did have the oddest of ideas involving giving it a fleshlight as a joke :) I have NOOO idea how that would translate to the sensation suit properly...
But yes, it is an option, there are those like me that have been dreaming and doodling to try and make it happen... downside? A 2+ Million Dollar fursuit? That probably isn't going to happen, and imagine the horrors of A) Trying to use the elevator, B) battery/power source limitations and C) Field Repairs. Not to mention if the transmit lag was too long, the pressure feedback wouldn't hit right away, and you could accidentally break doors, crush people, etc.
... or maybe I shouldn't design it around aluminum alloys and a hybrid hydraulic/pnuematic system... Yeah. Maybe plastics, electric servos, and hydraulics for main body support only...
I should get out more. >.<
