Thats true! Though one proposed idea is to make a secondary account for reminders. Its annoying but I know that is what other artists have done in the past.

yeah, accounts for reminders is a working idea, but sometimes it’s need to be on main just because someone could miss the auction and a reminder could help find a buyer among watchers and etc. that’s how it’s work I suppose!

I’m fine a few but not a bunch because I also do reminders for auctions and stuff, but only a couple times and my auctions only lasts a day. very VERY rarely have I unfollowed people due to that but they were spamming it which is a bit much and actually not technically allowed here according to FA’s TOS because it’s a waste of a submission if spammed with reminder photos for one thing multiple times a day. Like every 10-30 minutes it was a reminder post with a few I had to unfollow. And that’s what some people don’t like so they will unfollow if that’s all they see from them.

But you’re not spamming on my end in my eyes, and I like your art :) also FA has been removing dead accounts so it’s probably not even on your end. It happens with me as well and others. When an account gets deleted it gets removed all together from watch lists.

Yeah I know what you mean I didn’t care for the rule either because some artists here thrive on getting bills paid through selling art and I think reminders should be ok but stay limited to like 2 a day, I normally do one in the day and one at night if I do

this rule kinda sucks because yeah… as a student I’m strongly depend on money and such. sometimes reminders is the only way. (but not that every 10-30 minutes ones, it is kinda not ok as for me ahah)
it would be cool if in future we could get something like special section for reminders only, I think this is a good idea. but I don’t think that administration would ever do that and would ever care about such

It was a proposed and promised “update” for FA to have its own reminder section to posts rather than to clump them in with the general posting. But, like with a promised blacklist system (like E621 has), it’s been a delayed and false promise. FA’s only updates has been for FA+ members.

Correct. Where if you’re not a FA+ member, you don’t matter or even exist to FA.

As someone whose notifications for submissions is about 75% reminders and spam, I can see why it is annoying for many as it is subsequently annoying for me in turn. Sure I watch 6000+ people, but spam is still spam.

yeah I can understand! but as I said sometimes it’s the only way to remind your followers about something. but shame on those who don’t delete such reminders after some time and keeps spamming with them ahah

The way I see it, is many people already see the first post to begin with. If they’re interested (or become interested at a later date), they’ll remember it and return to it. And don’t really want it shoved in their faces time and time and time again. It reminds me of the few times people have left links to their commissions in my shouts and notes. Arrogance, basically.

So that’s why people are getting ‘fed up’ so to speak with constant reminders and spams. Sure there’s 2 sides to the story and I understand yours. But broadly speaking, reminders quickly turn into spam that people just don’t want. There’s one artist who has 5 or so ongoing YCHs and spams them twice a day. That’s 10 reminders, sometimes more, from ONE person.
