Though I have seen other artists call the amount of work added to a similar pic a sketch. Normally when I think of a sketch, the pic does not have color.

Sketches are relative I think.  theumbraartist for example, for her I think what differentiated a sketch from a painting was the level of work that goes into it. Lines might be a bit rougher while a painting would use no lines whatsoever, backgrounds would be rough and speedy in a sketch but be more involved and intricate in a painting.

For myself, I label my art as sketches if I'm just being rough and loose with the lineart or painting, even if its still rather detailed overall.



So basically, it's up to how you look at it, if you think that you'd call it a sketch or a painting or whatever else :>

I would say your art work is a bit of a Combination. Though I will agree with Akaikosh, Where it's how much work you put into it. You could be doing about just a hours work in or whoever much it is when you did some of mine and that could be seen as sketches.

Though I will say your work is starting too get up there. I like the like work you do on a lot of the pieces. I love the details you done even if they are simple.
