Current Status and Vision

Nice to meet you.
I've decided to quit my current job in March. I'm going to enjoy a little vacation and then I'm going to make modeling my career.
I used to make mascot costumes and would like to focus on that, but I also have to make a living, so I need to make as many different things as I can in the time I have.
Therefore, we will be taking orders for life-size dolls for overseas markets.
I have received so many comments, messages and DMs from people who found out about it earlier. We are setting the price based on the information and requests we received.
Based on this information, I will show you the price we are currently considering.
[This is not a definite price. It's just a concept. There may be changes in the future based on the feedback we receive.]
[2 colors or less doll body]
Under 125cm 2000$
Under 160cm 2300$
Under 180cm 2500$
More than that Price consultation
[Additional parts]
Simple framework 200$+
Various parts 100$+
Costume 100$+
Pattern, etc 150$+
Price estimates do not include shipping costs. Shipping costs added and calculated separately, per doll body size/weight. The customer is responsible for checking and paying any/all custom duties and taxes applied by their country
Research continues on how to send, package, and pay for the items.
We will try to find a way to make it as safe and reasonable as possible.
If anyone has experience buying from Japan, I would appreciate any information you can provide.
We will continue to keep you informed as we start our commissions.
Please wait for more information.

My frustration so far has been that I haven't been able to spend enough time on my work.
The works I have published in the past have been messy, and from now on I will be able to create works that are as careful as they should be.
But that's another story. I've talked about giving you a free teeka before, and I'd like to do it.
I'm investigating how to send it safely and securely to the US.
Also, I will send you a new body for the Teeka, as the one I released earlier had a body that I used.
It may take a few months, but please wait.
I know I'd love something like this of my OC but as it stands it's kind of a pie in the sky dream and not something I could ever justify spending that much money on. That said If you should be getting more than that for what you do I absolutely think you should get it, and think that helping people understand what you do better it increases your chances of getting what you're worth.
I often get compared to fursuits and their prices.
I guess those people think that dolls are easier to make.
The visible outer costume takes about the same amount of time and effort.
And above all, there are mannequins and skeletons inside that are sculpted one by one for this purpose.
It takes almost twice as much time and effort to make a fursuits as it does a fur suit, but the problem is that not many people understand this.
I still have some work in progress, so I'm working on that first, but I'm sure I'll be making improvements and samples for commercialization in the future.
"Shipping costs will be added to these. You will be billed separately for customs duties and consumption taxes upon arrival in your country."
To this, with forms that underline who and why such costs are added:
"Price estimates do not include shipping costs. Shipping costs added and calculated separately, per doll body size/weight. The customer is responsible for checking and paying any/all custom duties and taxes applied by their country."
While most Western countries are OK with NSFW dolls, some (like Australia) may have objections for small NSFW bodies. Maybe add this to the commission info too? It adds that customer checks and knows that he can buy and import such a doll, and its not your fault if something happens:
"Customer is solely responsible for checking if importing doll bodies of their choice is allowed in their country. Artist takes no responsibility, and offers no refunds, if the doll is confiscated by local customs/import office!"
I fixed it as soon as possible.
I've been gathering information about opening a business here every day. Last night, I heard from a person who exports fur suits from Japan.
He said that it costs about $230 for a 160cm size suit using EMS to the US. He also advised me to consider safety rather than cheapness, so I will take that into consideration.
I would appreciate it if you could keep me informed.
On a different note, I saw your account on FA. I was intrigued by the blue rabbit.
I'd like to make one someday if you allow me.
Safety should be your #1 priority. There's only one of you and your skill is unique in this furry culture <3 Safety will be a very important thing when you decide what payment methods you will use. There are huge differences between card payments (Visa/Mastercard) and PayPal and bank transfers and such. Each has different laws, taxes, and rules for refunds. Some may allow Customer to automatically refund money, even if you don't agree on this, so you will need to be protected against this.
Additionally:
Legal and semi-legal English is very specific and Deepl may not understand it. Its similar to how Japanese has different Politeness forms for children, students, workers, managers, royalty, priests. English doesn't have such polite forms, my native language (not Western) does, so I'm aware of the possible translation issues.
Since your customers are international, and will understand English in different ways, I believe its important to use specific language for your Terms of Service so they're safe for you.
Please consider making a list of things you want to write in your Terms of Service, so they can later be written in such a language. Examples:
> Minimal customer age (21+)
> Copyrights of Characters used for dolls
> Artist provides service under Japanese law
Even if you write those in Japanese, we can use Deepl/Google to find nearest English equivalents. If you have a similar contract in Japanese for a custom item made for you, you can use it for reference!
>BlueRabbit
I would be honored and very happy to see your work! I will absolutely allow this! :D
I will need to upload more images. Not all were shown on FA yet!
> International Bank Transfers:
Client pays to send money. Client has to ask his bank how much it costs him to send money. Artist may have to pay charges for money exchange (USD to JPY) or taxes. Artist can ask bank how much such charges cost from USA, or European countries. You can ask your bank if you pay any charges and how much
Safe, usually no fake refunds unless Client goes to Police and claims he was robbed.
> Western Union
All fees paid by Customer. Artist only pays fee if money exchange is needed (USD to JPY). Safe like bank transfer. May be more expensive to Customer.
> PayPal
Invoice payments only! Otherwise unsafe!
Artist pays fees. Example fee: 35 - 40USD for 1000 USD. Safety depends on how Artist prepares invoice. Client may do fake refund, if Artist has little PayPal experience.
> Visa/Mastercard/CreditCards
Fees depend on bank & card. Additional fees possible for Artist?
Not recommended, artist may be cheated with fake card refund.
Please ask USA artist friends to verify & comment! Bank law is very different between USA and Japan and Europe. Payments such as Cashapp or Venmo aren't accepted in Europe, and I don't know if Japan accepts them. I also don't know how safe they are for Artist & if Client can cheat with fake refunds there.
Reading the comments, I'm glad to see a lot of legal information has been shared with you.
Basically any rules that would apply to Silicone/TPE love dolls are going to apply to the dolls you're selling if they have pocket sleeve holes designed to house an onahole/penetrable sleeve toy.
In general when comparing TPE/Silicone dolls to plush dolls, plush love dolls are often significantly cheaper. However most don't have skeletal framing.
Your quality in general looks significantly higher than any other I've seen.
Thus for custom commission orders these prices definitely seem reasonable.
However I'm wondering if these are your current set prices? Also if you have different (possible somewhat lower) pricing for non commission dolls, as in not a new design, but just using the designs you already have?
I know your most recent post mentions that reaching out on Twitter is the best bet. So i may contact there also.
Whatever the case I hope you and your business are doing well.
