On file formats and text formatting.

Alright, to get back to a journal entry that's actually about my writing, I thought I'd talk a little bit about file formats, and why I upload my stories as .txt files instead of .rtf, which seems to be the more popular format among the other writers on this site.
Well, quite simply, I like using the generated preview feature on Fur Affinity. It's the method of presentation that I personally like the best, after checking out what other uploaded stories were like back when I first decided to start uploading last October. That means having my files opened from notepad, which I don't actually like writing in for stories; so instead, I write my works in wordpad, which is what I'm most comfortable with, which is .rtf. Of course, if you pay attention to my descriptions you know I mention using google docs. I don't like actually writing in google docs because google docs uses various autocorrects that I personally do not like, such as making quotation marks go from looking, "like this," to, “like this.” However, since google docs has spellcheck and word count features, which my wordpad version does not have, I use a google doc in part of my process to help me check for errors and check how many words are in the story.
So in the full process, I write in wordpad, copy paste from there to google docs to check it over, then copy paste from google docs to notepad, then upload those files. Except for my outlines; those I just write straight in notepad and upload as is, since I don't care if they're perfect.
As I said, I've seen that other authors here usually seem to upload in .rtf, then possibly put a copy paste of the story in the description of the upload as well, but personally I prefer the preview. Of course, just uploading a straight .txt file means I don't get to use bold, italic, or underlined text... Or at least, I thought it didn't, until just a couple days ago I saw a story that had underlined and italic text in the generated preview, much to my surprise. ಠ_ಠ
I guess that means the text formatting works if you write the bracket formats in the .txt file. Here I was, embracing the self made challenge of making writing without those tools... Well you know, I probably still will anyway, because that's the way I'm getting used to writing my erotica now. Quite the funny revelation though.
