Hey all! How's everyone doing? I hope you are all doing well and staying safe.

The purpose of this journal is to tell you all about my trip to Chicago this last weekend (Just got back from today and I am BUSHED)

As some of you know I play fighting games, mainly Soulcalibur 6 (Follow me on Twitch at https://www.twitch.tv/leanxtriforcer if you want to watch) (Shameless plug is shameless but I digress)

Anyway I just came back from Frosty Faustings, a major offline tournament that was canceled the last couple years for obvious reasons but was finally put back into action this year with mask requirements and COVID tests on sight which I tested negative for (Thank God) and was allowed to compete, meet fellow players and see some bigger names in the scene (I should've gotten pictures but I was too nervous to ask...which is weird but next time)

Anyway, the bracket for SC was about 55 people (Would've been 60 but last minute withdrawal's and DQ's knocked it down a bit) And it was my first time ever going to compete for such a thing and...

I took 9th place. I met a long time friend/training partner (Drove six and a half hours to his place then another three and a half to the venue. But it wasn't bad in all honesty)

Was really proud of myself and only lost too said training partner who ended up taking 5th over all. So it was a blast and I can't wait for next year, and will be setting my sights on top 8 for sure.

This was also eating into my writing time as I was training and getting better constantly (Sidebar but I wanted to let you know what I was doing)

Anyway, glad to be back and ready to write in earnest now. (I say that a lot but I have nothing in the foreseeable future so it's going to happen)
