This law that is being reintroduced on Feb. first of this year is a law that will give the government full power on watching and censoring everything we do. The whole slogan of protect the children is just something to use to trick parents who are too uneducated about the matter. What will happen when this law passes is that websites such as FA, Sofurry, and even E621 could be affected and porn on these sites would have to gain the right in order to show them online. Section 230 would basically be demolished, and our rights would be slashed all because of the government wanting more control over people for no reason except power. The only thing we can do is call our state senators and tell them not to pass the bill or else it may be harder for all of us to do the work we love doing.

B: (warning: baseless conspiracy cliche 1) the EARN IT act might be a cover up to peek into our personal data and exploit chances of giving internet surfers something worse than youtube ads (the horrors)
C: (warning: baseless conspiracy cliche 2) people who drafted the EARN IT act might also be side hustling as commission artists who want to, in most prejudice way, limit the flow of supply and demand on various streamers so their products in comparison would be treated like an oasis and pocket in excess income.
