I think it's more that people on the internet, and furs generally have just forgotten how to disagree about things without making it all-out war. I've now lost something like 6 friends for criticizing the wrong corporations... No I'm not joking. And I was branded "alt-right" for saying that Donald Trump wasn't the USA's "worst president evar!!!"... which well: let's just have a look here off the top of my head:
- Jackson - Signed the Indian removal act, AKA actual Genocide
- Eisenhower - Lost a nuke in MY country and tried to retrieve it like it was a baseball that went over a fence
- Basically EVERY president before 1863 - Owned slaves
- Roosevelt - Set up concentration camps
- Truman - The sole human in all of history to deploy a nuclear device against a civilian target... and he did it twice.
- Donald Trump... Was kind of dim and mean on Twitter

Yeah; those are all totally comparable... Said a sane person...

Personally, I’d say Biden’s the worst president America’s ever had. At least with Trump (who I personally thought was too lenient) gas wasn’t $3.25 a gallon.

I really worry about this kind of stuff, to be honest. Two old friends have blocked me so far, and I’m almost certain it was politically motivated.

I mean: Biden is literally a corpse-president who I'm not convinced makes any decisions at all, so not sure if that qualifies as "worst"...

The problem as I see it is we now live in a world where-in people are allowed to curate their own news... Consequently: curate whether what they hear conforms to what they already think is true. As a result; we wind up with people who might as well be living in entirely different realities. A writer I follow called it "One screen, two movies". The problem is: that isn't really a tenable state of affairs, once material reality doesn't matter, only dogma, we have a problem... Because material reality doesn't care what your dogma says.

Biden's an absolute zero. Still better than a negative score, though XP I definitely don't miss having a scandal every single week...
But yeah, pulling back on the political/religious stuff is defo a good idea. People go to specific places to discuss these sorts of things, and FA isn't one of them

I've not payed too much attention, but, It's rather prevalent of several mods/managers, in several video game speedrunning communities and even some companies to power-trip on people for wrongthink especially in regards to politics and religion.
