30 day word count
Well, 'At the sign of the Prancing Kitty' has been in the works for 30 days. Current word count is 11573, including 44 words of plot points. I could see those plot points turning into at least another 2k words. Hitting 17.5k ('novella' length) would certainly be nice, but I'm not going to try to stretch it out to fit a word count target.
Why a 30 day word count? Because November has 30 days, and is NaNoWriMo. The stated goal of NaNoWriMo is to compose a 50k word novel, though ~10k seems to my typical productivity limit for a month. In terms of structure, the story seems to kinda align with a 'traditional' 5-act play. Acts 1, 3 and 5 are more or less finished, and I'm starting to fill in the blanks/plot points on 2 and 4. My muse also decided to hand me a checkov's gun (or two), even if they weren't by intent.
