life is good... ain't it so?
Hello there. I'm curious to know if any of you actually use an art/photograph dedicated monitor? I was told that CRT will do even better in color accuracy.

CRTs can be color accurate, but you need to buy one built for that purpose, which can be hard to find, and very expensive.
The big thing to look for is IPS panel types, they tend to have the best colors. And you can even buy color calibration tools to further their accuracy.
This is the one I bought: https://www.asus.com/us/Displays-De.....splay-PA247CV/
Just have to make sure you set up the ICC profile that they come with.
You can pick up a decent IPS monitor for cheap, 23 inch should be ideal, however monitor size is just preference, same with what cable you use for them (display, hdmi)
i have two DELL S2421HN Full HD 23.8" LCD Monitors and they’re a wonder for gaming and art.
My Dell 2209WA still looks fantastic even though it's almost a decade old, but I did also have to invest in a color calibrator. Out of the box, most monitors are not calibrated very well, and my display had a washed-out green tint and inconsistent greys. I picked up a Datacolor Spyder Express 2 for about $70 and it did a good job fixing my display's color, but over the years the accuracy of the Spyder has drifted and it's no longer usable. There should be a way to re-calibrate the Spyder, but the manufacturer doesn't let you do that with the cheaper models, so I don't think I'll buy one of their products again.

It's the one I already use

my old viewsonic still works for general browsing but with a manufacture date of 2008 (!!) its rough edges and wear are starting to show 😅
I like that this Acer has multiple input ports (I have used it plugged in with HDMI to one laptop and VGA to another, one-button switching between the two so i could interchange 2-monitor setups as needed without a second external monitor) but the one MISTAKE I made with this one is that it's not built for VESA compatible mounting solutions. I had to buy a special bracket thing to mount it to a swivel arm and I probably would not buy something that's not VESA-ready in the future if given the choice.

In terms of color accuracy, I'd recommend a monitor with an IPS panel like the one I have. Also, use DisplayPort over HDMI!
