Mostly because I like to keep my fA free of real political stuff, also part of me believed things would not have escalated to such degree.

Not to upset anyone, but sadly most of the major Government's (Russia, China, and even the U.S) are flawed with corruption and tyrannical view points. They do not represent the views of the people they rule over and only keep what they need around for taxation.

My observation of the war and the way the u.s. is reacting to it has a bit of backing with historical trends like during WWII when it first broke out the USAs older citizens and anyone with an actual voice (the billionaires and government officials) decided against sending troops to fight overseas until the war threatened (the illusion of) American freedom so the generals sent young men over to Europe with guns uniforms and rotting meat to die while they commanded them in the comfort of their offices so my conclusion is that by around 2023 the u.s. will be sending over a bunch of troops who will do the exact same thing as the last time and then this will happen over and over again for generations as it is in human nature to create conflict and then send others to deal with it for them
