HelloMany people know about what is happening in the world. I see no reason to write about it again. You see everything...
I live in Russia and at the moment I am safe. However, my house is located quite close to the borders. Parents woke up from the sound of explosions at night.
I am a half-breed hah
Most of my relatives live in Ukraine. This is my grandmother and cousins. I saw them only twice in my life when it was not complicated by political aspects. It terrifies me to think that I will never be able to hug them again. In Ukraine, I also have close friends who supported me. I love them very much and do not want harm.
All these years, I dreamed that this glass wall would collapse and I could meet my family and friends. But definitely not in this way... It hurts me a lot to realize what is happening now. And this is definitely not what we would all like. I'm sure everyone just wants to live. Everyone just wants hug your loved ones, meet friends and go to visit them. None of us want war.
So the fact that I live in Russia does not mean that I approve of this situation. Doesn't mean I'm a monster. That is why I will not remove the name of my country from my profile. I want to demonstrate by personal example that not all Russians in the modern world are evil. I am very hurt to read messages from my friends that they have been attacked because of their nationality. This is a step towards inciting ethnic hatred. It seems to me that in the twenty-first century there is no need to explain why this is bad.
Please refrain from aggression, insults and humiliation. I am sure you are wiser and better than that. Provocations I will ignore. I don't want fights. Get out of here if you want them!

The actions of your dictator and horrific, ancient-minded government are not those of you. I hope you and your loved ones can get through this situation safely.
It pains me to see records in the spirit of "I will not buy anything from Russian artists because of their politics." It's offensive. We cannot influence it. Now we are suffering from sanctions because of politics. And we suffer from self-loathing because of politics.
I am filled with fear and resentment. For me, any war is fratricide ಥ_ಥ
I completely get that, yeah. Many people seem to be under the impression that this government is one that is supported by its people, when it should be clear to anyone that the citizens of Russia are terrorized by their dictators as much as the Ukraine is.

The past 40 years have probably been the most peaceful time our species has ever lasted and a majority of us can't even begin to understand how it is to live near the conflict or even know what's at stake. But what this time has taught us, is how widespread the attitude against war is and our modern connections make it so much easier to fight prejudice and inform how people don't necessarily stand behind the actions of their governments. Sadly, some people are still too close-minded to make this connection, which makes it even more important you shared your situation.
This conflict is a boiling point for fright and terror and has come to an end as soon as possible. Standing your ground and defending the anti-war position among the Russian population will only add to the pressure your government faces and is therefore very important.
Sadly this is as much as I know what to do and I can't comprehend the intricacies of the people in charge that try to prevent further escalation.
Even if they are only words, I do hope and wish yourself, your family and acquaintances and everyone who does not drive this conflict further, the invulnerability that is needed in these dire times.
We cannot defend our position. There is an army between us and the politicians. We checked. Repeatedly.
