Stop Hating Russian People

Ok, more political thoughts.
It's extremely sad to hear from my fellow artists from Russia that some people unfollowing them, removing favs from their artworks (!!!) or even blaming for war in Ukraine.
I also tired of shitstorm blaming Russian civilians for what's going on, especially from Ukrainian people. They're saying that their blood on our hands and we're doing nothing - it doesn't even matter if you're for or against the war. But our countries are different. If they did Maidan doesn't mean same thing work in Russia. Our army 5th big in the world. According to the rating of the world's strongest armies it takes second place. If you believe that our riots can't be aggressively and cruelly suppressed, you're living in the unicorn land. I mention again that we have a lot of political prisoners. Yes, we're sorry for Ukraine and feel pain because of these events. But most of us don't want to die or get jailed.
Rallies going on in Russia during last days showing how bravely our people stand for peace. A lot were catched and arrested. In some cities riot police very cruel to those who showing their opinion on streets. Fines for those who was catched on rally are huge. So stop saying that we're cowardly.
It's also very upsetting to see posts from Russian people on FA or Twitter or somewhere else saying that they're ashamed of country or being Russian - as they personally responsible for government actions. Russia is not its government. We're trying to change things here for years, but our voices not heard and they don't matter. Why regular people crucifying themselves on social media like Jesus who suffered for other's sins?
I'm not ashamed to be Russian and I'm not ashamed of my country. But I tired of our government and not supporting its politics as lots of people here. That's what I want to talk about. As I said it's Putin's war.
Everyone feeling sorry for Ukraine and romanticizing situation - small proud country fighting huge evil empire. But we - civilians - are stressed and afraid here. Shitstorm falls upon us on Internet just because we are Russians, though we didn't chose where to born and - if you ask - didn't chose our government. While everyone extends a helping hand to Ukrainian people, we nervously scrolling news to read about new sanctions and hoping that PayPal won't be blocked and we will be able to live. Prices raised on everything, especially on technics. Countries are closing borders to us, planes flights cancelling. Some people already escaped. I have escape plan, too, but paperwork takes time, so I don't know if I'll be able to go anywhere in the end. It's heartbreaking to know that you may need to left behind everything you have and love there to exist as you did previous week. We abandoned and nobody cares about us.
There's disturbing news about military conscriptions of our men. A lot already died in Ukraine, though lots didn't wanted to go on that war, but they had no choice - you either will die in Ukraine or will die as deserter.
Most people bullying Russians on Internet - Russian artists, bloggers, randoms, but at the same time most of you don't know shit about our country, our culture, our life and what we're experiencing here now. As I said in previous journal, most civilians against that war, but no one asked us. And yeah - government doesn't care about sanctions, they affect civilians only, like we lived in luxury before.
So fucking stop hating Russian people just because we're living here. Hate Putin. I hate him, too.

FA+

I hope Putin does getvwhat is coming to him and then let the russian people elect a leader who will do his damn best to undo what Putin has done.
I will continue to pray for the people of both Ukraine and Russia for peace.
The only people that should be blamed is Putin and his enablers
Seriously, this is textbook bigotry, and you're just looking for someone to bully.
I'm just deeply sorry for all that is happening, and I believe our diplomats are doing the best they can to avoid yet more suffering.
What I think everyone will agree on is that all those sanctions, all those insane economic shackles, will just be there as long as the oligarch system reigns. Nobody wants to see russian fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers to starve. People just want peace, and mutual prosperity with the freedom to decide for our own faith.
If I recall history well (and I'm very bad at history), every time a country suffers through insane sanctions and economic retaliation in the long term those people grow bitter and close themselves, sparking nationalism and hatred. It once gave a painter enough pain to start a genocide. Nobody wants that, trust me.
Hell I've heard some pundents call for Russian internment camps or deportation here in USA. That won't happen (God I hope) but it's still disgusting this is being said on major networks.
Sorry y'all have to deal with that shit. I hope people will quit it out.
All those haters are absolute morons falling for propaganda. Regular people don't want to fight or have nations fight for them.
What I found was a lot of insanely friendly and funny people, a wonderful, old and unique culture and a beautiful country.
I stand deeply behind the ukrainian people but also behind all the russian people whom are suffering from a dictator who is supposed to be a president who should protect and respect the people in his country.
The russian people...Russia...deserves something better.
Putins biggest fear is that most of the russians wont fall for his propaganda and tyranny anymore after they got a taste of freedom and piece. He is not afraid of the West, he is not afraid of the NATO. He is only afraid to lose influence and power.
Russia has a "president" who deeply hates the russian people and only cares about himself.
I dont blame the russians whom have been falling for his propaganda and deep manipulation.
This is only Putins war.
It's sad to see so much people doing this to people who are already enough afraid (and angry) of this situation!
I truly, truly hope everything will end soon... for you and for all :(
And I'm aware of how hard the protesters are being censored and suppressed (I've seen this on the news twice), which shows that no, not all Russians want a bloodshed like mostly people think. They want peace like everyone else.
Anyway, I hope you stay safe and that you find ways to support yourself.
There is only one man responsible for this senseless violence, and that's Vladimir Putin (yes the government is responsible too, but Putin has full power over them too). The entire Russian civilian population should not be held accountable for their president's atrocities. Russians are already starving and suffering gravely from the economic sanctions, and are struggling to survive. Last thing they need is this disgusting Russophobia and senseless hatred.
